Wow had to pause the video to say how surprised I am, how ppl debate over the meaning of "poor in Ruach" I'm not a scholar or a church goer my whole life, Just always have read the word. Come from poverty...Just knowing humans, this to me is such a easy verse to understand, I used to have to pan handle with my dad, he used to steal the paper towels outside of gas stations for our toilet paper, I wld pick up random cigarette buts off the street to smoke. Rob, sell drugs, whtevr. Now thru this all a normal person wld say, well you have to be poor or humble...thru all of that, but no! Lol my dad poor and lowly as we all knew he was, felt entitled to people far better off than Him, he wld go off at a McDonald's worker for not beliving his lies about a replacement (free) meal.....act entitled to another person who was working and helping another customer before Him! Lol it was a sight to see, the poorest of them all, in a broke down vehicle, acting as if he was a millionaire!(in my mind), he was poor, but not in spirit. I dont like to say I was different bc it feels like spiritual bragging....And I dont intend that...but I was the polar opposite bc I grew up in tht...And I truly appreciated every literal dime or penny a person off the street did give me when I pan handled, and always felt that I'm the lowest human on the planet thru my sin, and position in life. And another thing about being truly poor is you hunger to just not be THAT poor anymore, at least to the point of, "at least we have a roof over our head", praise Hashem for that alone, and if we loose that roof, still praise Hashem. Bc I wasn't worthy of it to begin with. dont need much to praise God. Halleluyah, for what some ppl praise others will see as a chastisment lol...God bless y all.

No, no, no. Poor symbolizes not having enough, wanting more. Scripture is saying that those who are HUNGRY, want MORE, of the word, will be blessed. God said that obedience to the law, to hear and obey it, is a blessing. So the ones who hunger and are never full of hearing and obeying, will be blessed. Scripture refers to those who are complacent, no longer hungry, as rich and full. When you are wealthy, or not needing in food, you become no longer prioritize seeking it. This is why Yahushua said we must eat of his flesh and drink of his blood. These are metaphors for WANTING to seek and CONSUME the "word". James chapter 8 says "the SEED is the WORD". The seed is of the harvest, the barley and wheat seed, which is used to make BREAD. Yahushua called himself the BREAD of life, of we eat of him. The word is the seed, which makes the bread, which the poor seek after because they are hungry for the word. John 1:14 "the WORD became FLESH". scripture says that the WORD was the LAW. and Yahushua perfectly reflected, taught and obeyed the LAW, which was the word. Which came forth from the planting of the SEED. And this seed made the bread of life that we hunger for, we hunger for the word of rhe Lord, which is his Law. The rich do not hunger for bread, they seek the finer things like meat. They will not become full (spiritually). The poor are thise whi desperately seek out the word, to consume it, and are never full, meaning they want more. They are starving for the word.

The poor in spirit are experiencing a famine of either bread or words which proceed from EEYAH’s mouth. Why is it the seed can’t be planted? Why do they lack water? Why do they have no light? Who saves?

@@messengerofiexist2139 the book of James says that the seed is the WORD, and the field, or dirt is our HEARTS. James explains that the seed cannot be planted on a rock, it will not grow. He then explains that before the seed can be planted (take growth) the soil must be tilled. He compares the tilling of the soil to the circumcising of our hearts. He says we have hearts of stone, which cause of us reject the law, but that we need circumcised hearts of flesh, that will allow the seed to be planted AND take root. This is why Jerimiah 31:33, Ezekiel 36, and Hebrews 8, all 3 chapters being about "the new covenant", that the holy spirit will circunsizr our hearts of stone, into a heart of flesh, causing us to WANT TO hear and obey the law". Until our hearts of stone (stubborn hearts that rebell against the law) are circumcised, we will not accept Gods law. We must become spiritually circumcised, so the seed, which is the word, can take growth. And yes, you are right, the poor in spirit are experiencing a famine, because they are being given a FALSE SEED, a FALSE WORD, which teaches that the law is done away with.

@@-kepha8828 Amen. The seed and the soil representing the word or the law and the one who is or isn’t receptive is not the only possible interpretation. Additionally, consider this: The seed is what a man plants in a field, a woman. The soil types represents different types of women’s hearts. The fruit is their children. If the fruit is bad, not fearing EEYAH in her heart, then the man planted his seed in the wrong type of ground, a woman whose heart does not fear EEYAH. Therefore, the man must properly select the right woman.

@@messengerofiexist2139 this is a poor interpretation, that scripture does not support or attempt to claim. Esau was the TWIN of Jacob, from the SAME woman, Rebekah, whom was a very good woman. Your poor interpretation insinuates that Esau was a bad fruit because he was born from a bad woman. This clearly cannot be true, because Jacob turned out just fine. The same example can be given with Cain and Able. My example was found directly from the book of James. Your example, which I proved to be incorrect, is not found in any scriptures. I wasnt just pulling something out of thin air, what I claimed was WRITTEN in the word of God.

Matt. 5:3 Blessed. The word lit., means “happy, fortunate, blissful.” Here it speaks of more than a surface emotion. Jesus was describing the divinely bestowed well-being that belongs only to the faithful. The Beatitudes demonstrate that the way to heavenly blessedness is antithetical to the worldly path normally followed in pursuit of happiness. The worldly idea is that happiness is found in riches, merriment, abundance, leisure, and such things. The real truth is the very opposite. The Beatitudes give Jesus’ description of the character of true faith. poor in spirit. The opposite of self-sufficiency. This speaks of the deep humility of recognizing one’s utter spiritual bankruptcy apart from God. It describes those who are acutely conscious of their own lostness and hopelessness apart from divine grace (Matt 9:12; Luke 18:13). theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Notice that the truth of salvation by grace is clearly presupposed in this opening verse of the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus was teaching that the kingdom is a gracious gift to those who sense their own poverty of spirit.

Because that's not what praying in his name means. It's about walking in his ways, submission to his will. Living life in his name... He didn't mean us to just stick those few words at the end of our prayers, it's far more than that.

It is not 'happy', but 'blessed'. The phrase 'in spirit' should be rendered as 'as to the spirit'. It does not mean 'low in spirit'. Please don't make nonsense. The phrase 'as to the spirit' is not in G-Luke and it should be construed to 'be blessed'. The text then should read: 'Blessed as to the spirit are the God's poor people because theirs is the kingdom of the heavens to belong to'.
