@peymaania, I have the highest regard for Robert Wistrich. I have seen him many times on youtube, and he always impressed me. He is one of the few people brave enough to tell the truth in our dark times. It's Bernard Lewis who disappoints me here.

Bernard Lewis is right on about Iran. Unlike Arabs, who to this day don't have a notion of nation, Persians are a true nation. And the current regime is trying to turn them unto generic Muslims, people with no national identity. The people resent it very much. LOVE him. Brilliant. I originally saw Professor Lewis on a documentary called "The Longest Hatred" am a liberal BUT I am unabashedly supportive of the Jewish state. I think that to BE a liberal, to BE concerned with the Separation clause of the US constitution, to be in favor of free speech, press, etc., to be in favor of ALL the civil liberties accorded by our Founders in their brilliant document, I can EASILY be in support of Israel by the evidence of MY OWN EYES. Dhimmi is not an ottoman empire term..it is islamic. The Quran, hadiths and Sharia all refer to dhimmi. Funny how secular historians never seem to actually read easily the most central book of the topic of which they speak! Surely the significant rise of the right wing and neo-Nazi movements in Europe has had a far greater impact on anti-Jew hatred than the modest number of Wahhabis residing throughout the continent.
