Some look more sefaradi/ashkenazi, others look more arab and even black. Israelites came in a variety of colors, I am sure.

History tells us that Judaism was brought to Yemen nearly at the second century C.E. By two Doctors-Rabbis from Mecca or Medina (now Saudi Arabia) who treated a Pagan Yemeni King. That King was fascinated by the teachings of Judaism, so he converted and ordered his people to follow. Yemenite are Semitic people, but they are by no means a "lost tribe" of Israelites .

I wish someone could help me find the great documentary on Yemenite jews that KZbin deleted some unknown time ago. I know the video was up on this site about 3 years ago but has since disappeared without a trace. The video contained no english or any western music. The soundtrack was exclusively yemenite, and only hebrew was spoken in the video (with english subtitles). The video appeared to be old, perhaps from the 1960s, and was filmed in yemen.
