Loved the video, Colette. I always love to see videos about Hekate. She is my patron deity, and as a devotee to her, among other things, she is a loving mother to me. Her reality is so powerful that I am aware of her presence every day and believe I have a place with her after I pass away. She is the Anima mundi, the world soul. Thanks for this gem of a video, Colette. may Hekate watch over you always ❤ ☮️ 🗝🖤🗝

Such a beautiful video for a powerful goddess! I don't work with her within my practice anymore, but I do like to honor her during the darker half of the year. Thanks for sharing!
@The_Wild_WitchАй бұрын
I also wanted to say, instead of sacrificing animals such as dogs, an animal friendly alternative is to donate to animal rescues, perhaps ones that specialize in aiding dogs, or black dogs in particular , in her name as a way to honor her. Hope that this helps anyone who reads this!

Every year, about this time, I think about working with Hecate but then I find myself feeling intimidated by such a powerful deity. Your video has really inspired me though, so maybe this year.... BTW, thank you for the warning about the animal offerings. 💜

Hecate as Queen of Witches appeared in late Antiquity and come from folkore and fictions. She was formerly a Goddess of Land, Crossroads and Liminality.

Yes, that's it exactly.

if She was a Goddess of Crossroads it means that She is one of Pombagira,but which?

Yes , Hekate has always been associated with magic . Hekate had chthonic attributes from the earliest times ( as in the myth of the abduction of Persephone ) , linking her to the dead and the practice of necromancy . The spirits of the dead and the underworld were always integral to ancient Greek magic , practices that would eventually become seen as witchcraft and sorcery .

I give Hecate Spiced rum. She enjoys that. I once gave her vodka and she was not a fan. So much so that she threw things off her altar. So it’s Captain Morgan for her. Lol I found at least with me , wine isn’t her favorite.

I live on a 4 way crossroads. Our houses are small and close together and I am the 4th one along so I am very close to the crossroads. I have some trepidation about doing crossroads magic in case I make a mistake, it might be too close for comfort. On the other hand my house number is 111 which feels right and protective. Any thoughts?
@witchwaysАй бұрын
That totally makes sense. This is just my personal thoughts. For me as a witch I very often stand at the crossroads. And it is always an opportunity to make sure I magically keep steering towards the path that is my path in this life. But their is definately a history of more intensity around crossroads. Such as the medieval habit of burying criminals and suicides there. However I believe the idea of crossroads as a liminal place betwixt and between where the supernatural could be more easily contacted was probably the more longstanding belief. Great question. And yes 111 is magically great!

You know what you need to teach. You need to show your altar practice and tell what your doing for everything on the altar. .. like howdo u carry msg thorugh fire and just like how to do altar practice ... like everyweek u do something film it and tell us what is for what.
@witchwaysАй бұрын
Thanks for the idea! I'll put that on the list.

Mostly my altars are created to offer support for the central spell I'm doing or as a way to carry in seasonal energy.
