This is "Hair Cut-Ups", originally released around February of 1953- story by Tom Morrison; directed by Eddie Donnelly; music by Philip A. Scheib ["The Legend Of Dangerous Dan" by Scheib & Morrison]- voices by Roy Halee. A bonus at the end is the closing bumper of the weekly "HECKLE & JECKLE CARTOON SHOW", with a Terrytoon credit and NBC I.D. at the very end {they carried the show on Saturday mornings from 1969 through '71}...

@pjstudevent I have an Idea, granted my childchannels for cartoons were 11,9,7,5,28 and 13 you still had to get up on saturday mornings, bedsheets and a bowl of cereal..... those were fun times.... infact before I had a computer. I loved the classic cartoons as well as some modern ones, particularly BTAS. Animaniacs, Pinky in the brain, freakazoid n stuff were realy great but I still prefer the classics to those.

I LOVE THIS. lol. BUT HEY does anyone remember what the names of that other bird pair are? I don't even know if they're birds, but one's black and one's white, and they're like in detective clothing or something. I can't remember for the life of me.

I can't find them anywhere, not in the NYC market. I don't think you will ever see a cartoon on TV anywhere that depicts guns, knives, bombs, falling off cliffs, or getting hit over the head with a guitar. We grew up with this stuff and knew it was supposed to funny. Unfortunately, the entire culture has gotten so screwed up that no one laugh. In reality, with proliferation of guns that kds can get, maybe it is better they aren't shown to anyone else but us aging boomers who "get it."

I've seen some truly racist cartoons. This doesn't even qualify! And going by the comments and ratings, everybody loves it. I'm thinking: _Nobody works this hard anymore._ All those hand drawings, and coloring, frame by frame, all of it synched to composed and conducted orchestral recordings and harmony singing. Just a fantastic amount of effort in the pre-digital, early-color-TV era -- someday, people won't even comprehend this -- all to produce less than six minutes of children's entertainment. It's called "quality". They used to make everything that way: Buildings! Cars! Toys! (I used to play with 1950's/60's toys in my grandma's basement. THEY WERE AWESOME.) Things were built to last. Or you could get them fixed. Or get your money back. . Also, cartoons are more funny with danger, death, and the devil in them. They just are.

+Ben Culture Mr. Culture, your comment is written so poorly that no one knows for sure if you're trying to make the cartoonist out a racist or you're defending him for not being a racist. Why don't you and all the other troublemakers in the world just relax. Enjoy cartoons for the reason they were made for...for laughs!
