The HK 416 .22lr trainer looks a LOT like the real deal but chambered for the less expensive .22lr cartridge. Made by UMAREX under license from Heckler and Koch this thing has a lot of cool features.

got one recently, is my first rifle, absolutely love it, I went to a range for the first time and was able to put about 1000 rounds through it in an hour... at least 4 different types and speeds of ammo, beautiful rifle tbh, i was so worried because everyone says 22 is super unreliable so i was expecting to unjam it all day, way more reliable than describable if ur interested in 22

The only way 22 is not reliable is self defense because it doesn't do much damage otherwise it's a great round and love to hear that you like it have fun and have a great day

One hour is 60x60=3600seconds. So you shot a round every 3.6 seconds for an hour? No pause to look at a target, change out a target, reload mags, no breaks hardly at all...just bang, bang, bang every 3.6 seconds for an hour. Hard to believe. But your point was the rifle is capable and that is good to hear. Just bought one today...and I'll be shooting CCI.

@@twitchysmith8914 it was two of us and we had tons of mags, i only bought a 1000 rounds and there was maybe 100ish left, we def were going like maybe every 4-5 sec, thing was probably red hot, never really checked, absolutely covered in soot when i got it home, easy enough to clean, its fun and kicks less than some bb guns i have, i had to move to cali so unfortunately sold mine but i hope you have fun with yours!

Picked up one of these for a trainer and put about 200 rds through it today, ran awesome, trigger is a bit heavy, stock is a beard puller, have to watch that, hated the feel of the HK grip, swapped a MOE on it, had to drill out the holes on the MOE to make it work but it can work with light mods, intial impressions are positive, one of the better trainers out there

Thanks for the review , I picked one up Friday on consignment at a great price with a EOTech system and mine has a very short barrel with flash hider. No stock configuration so I'll be adding a legal stock to the pistol so it should turn out a sweet little 416 setup. Just real happy with the purchase.

Greetings from Louisville, KY. I bought one yesterday with the box at a pawn shop, lightly used. I went there to look at an M&P which to my good fortune they had sold, the guy handed this to me and although it was more than I had planned on spending I immediately considered it because of how it felt in my hands. I was already very happy with the deal I got but after seeing your review I also learned that the stock had been upgraded as well as the sights, and rails were put on the sides and bottom. Thanks for the info, btw the grip storage is for 2 18650 batteries for your tactical light. Thanks for the great review.

This is actually the HK 416D. The HK 416 is the pistol version (short barrel, no shoulder stock). I have the pistol version, very nice. I also have the Hammerli TAC 22, made by Walther. It is very similar to the HK 416D. Interestingly, the magazines from the Walther Hammerli and the HK 416 are identical and interchangeable.

I was told by my gun dealer HK416 22 and Hammerli Tac R1 22 arw the same rifles. It's called HK in US market and Hammerli in Europe

Palmetto State Armory offers a .22 Long Rifle barreled upper assembly. That would be interesting to find out if those are accurate and reliable.

Impressive 22 rifle.Looks as good as it performed also.I recently got the M&P 15/22 and I found the 25 round magazine can get some rounds sticking up if you don't take your time loading it.Umarex makes some good 22lr firearms,including the Colt 1911 clones.

I have the 15-22 as well and have seen the same issue you mentioned. It's not real bad, I just kinda slap the magazine against my hand and they straighten out but with these Umarex mags they never seemed to give me that issue. These are the easiest loading 20 round .22lr mags I have used to date. Thanks for stopping in Mark.

Ever consider 2 part video, the more in-depth video can be done at home indoor, closer up , and the specs can be done there , while the field video is more for show and accuracy , reliability .

Yes. They do. Those are basically the same gun with different shells around them.

Great review “Buffaler”(ha ha!), seriously. I’ve been looking at THIS .22 LR for SOME time now. I DO HAVE An older Colt/Walther (Umarex) M4-type rifle(CARBINE) now have had it for Idk, 8-10 YEARS (?) Not sure I’m a fan of the design with the barrel SLEEVE really. I can say it’s been mostly issue-free and pretty reliable though EXCEPT FOR the mags FALLING FREE from the magwell...a LOT. And yes, I’ve done everything I know of to try and adjust ANY & ALL takeup with the release..hasn’t solved a lot.
