In this episode, I have to climb the mountain range that I was riding parallel to in the previous days. The track is steep, with extremely loose boulders and quite technical.. How far still till I reach Atlantis?

To see Yeslem and Noraly write their names in the sand, something that has been done for thousands of years, and the way they laughed with their inner realization of each other. I had such an emotional reaction. I can't explain.

I watch overlander videos from time-to-time. Every one of them highlight trucks that cost a fortune and are equipped with every known item that will drag the truck along any route, no matter the terrain. Then, along comes Ahmed with his off the shelf Toyota. No winches, no skid plates, no super tires, nothing that distinguishes it from your every day Toyota pickup. But Ahmed and his Toyota go through terrain that might give those other overlanders chills. What a guy. What a truck. And what a Noraly!

Since Noraly left Delhi, all the experience she has gained has made her into a formidable rider. Knowing how far to push herself, and when to say No! and turn around. Noraly has us all buttock clenching when she goes beyond where we wouldn't even dream of going. On top of that, she still manages to get these wonderful vids together so that we can experience all these beautiful places and amazing, generous people that she meets along the way. What an epic channel this really is.

Noraly is an example of courage and adventure. Her resistance and exploratory spirit is incredible, the way she ventures into the most remote and extreme places in nature, high temperatures, inhospitable places, winding and impassable terrain, but Noraly always goes beyond the barriers. My respect and admiration for your passion for traveling and seeing the world on your motorcycle, facing all kinds of challenges and obstacles. Noraly is an inspiration to all of us who love freedom and adventure.

We are witnessing some of the best entertainment and educational video on any screen. Better than big production, big money TV shows. We see 20-25 minutes and as difficult as what we see may seem, there are 1415 minutes in the rest of the day that must be full of mental and physical challenges, but she still gives us 3 incredible videos a week. Even with Ahmed the great as a guide, Noraly has to endure the trek in grueling, unforgiving territory far from any comfort zone....other than her Alaska of course. The isolation alone would drive most insane. So much respect, so much respect! I feel like if I could shake Noraly's hand I would instantly become a better person. Thank You Kindly. Peace ❤❤❤

In the seventies, I rode with BMW R27, an old measly 18 horsepower motorcycle, on the Hippie Trail from Berlin to India. Afghanistan was still a peaceful place. With God's help I made it back. Map and compass had to be enough. Dear Mrs. Schoenmaker, your adventures always fascinate me and remind me of times long past. I have been riding motorcycles for 50 years now, always old BMWs. Why? Because they don't make trouble on the road. I wish you all the best and that happiness may stay with you.

The first people to cross the Sahara with a mechanised vehicle of any sort were two English women, Florence Blenkiron and Theresa Wallach in 1935 riding a 600 Panther and sidecar outfit. They did not even posses a compass between them. They were detained by the Foreign Legion who told them they would perish if they proceeded but they told the Legionnaires to get stuffed and did it anyway and despite being held hostage by Touareg tribesman, travelled down through Africa and eventually arrived in Cape Town. Afterwards the ladies who both raced bikes, went on to average over 100 mph at Brooklands race circuit, to become only 2 of 3 ladies ever to be awarded the the Brooklands Goldstar. Naturally, being British, they both wore pith helmets for the duration of their African adventure ! Both lived to a grand old age and died in the 1990's.

Ahmed has been a tour guide for all of us. Without him, it's really unlikely that the most recent videos would have been made because there's no way to transport that much fuel and water on a motorcycle. He's taking Noraly to these places on purpose, loaning her a tent (he probably slept in the truck), and knocking the sand off the can before fueling the motorcycle. If I ever go to Mauritania I want Ahmed for a guide. The Mauritanian government needs him leading their Dept of Tourism.

Every now and then Noraly reminds us of just how tough she really is. That baby head gravel is brutal to ride on; it just beats a rider into submission, until your forearms cramp and/or turn into jelly. Well, most riders. Not Noraly. And all that after half a day in deep sand, which is also very tiring. Good Lord, I’m exhausted just watching. My hat is off to you, Noraly Schoenmaker. Fortitude should be your middle name. I wouldn’t be able to pick up a cup of coffee after a day of that kind of riding.

Upto around 10,000 years ago the Sahara region was lush forest and savannah, so it's quite possible societies of humans lived there for many years before it became a desert. Modern humans have very little idea what our European societies were like, so it's no wonder societies in Africa were ignored until recently. "Africa" was a place to bring "culture and history" to, not to find it had been there long before we had it! Thanks Noraly for bringing this to wider attention.

Indy-Noraly Jones, all these people you meet in the desert, they make me smile, so much kindness, sharing. Ahmed, I think, is such a gentlemen, with this beautiful blue robe blowing in the wind in the yellow desert, friggin' great journey you are making. Love it.

Steep, rocky terrain, in the middle of a vast desert, and desert heat: "This is difficult." I believe that's the first time I've heard Noraly speak this during any of her travels, so I think we can rely on this being an understatement.
