Personally, I feel like Gilligan flew as close to the sun as he could have without going up in flames with BCS... Having the audience imagine entire stories based on narrative implications(like little things that are mentioned or hinted at) is a product of rich and thoughtful storytelling, but it doesn't mean it could carry an entire show or movie. Gus's past is another thing that is lightly touched upon a couple of times, but sometimes it's more interesting to speculate, discuss and theorize rather than have a whole show or movie that just lays it all out. See: Prometheus, Solo, Star Wars prequel trilogy, The Many Saints of Newark, etc... Though I suppose if anyone could pull it off, it's Vince Gilligan!
@IvalDeLo8 ай бұрын
@@DunklerZebralord EXACTLY. I know it’s a fictional show but I think it’s based on a real type of cartel. I mean that IS where the super meth comes from. Also I know a Mexican in Tennessee……… well KNEW…….. long story, but he would make trips to Texas once a month and come back to Tennessee with literally 2 TRASH BAGS……( seriously the big ass black trash bags…. 2 of em every month ) stuff as much as they possibly could be with kilos of the Mexican super meth…… hard story to believe, but I have SEVERAL people that will tell the exact story. My dude Manuel. Biggest drug dealer I ever met. One time a month when he got back his house would have like 50 people come in a 2 days period every 1st or 2nd of the month. Then nothing until about the third week of the month he would have the same ( estimated ) 50 people would come over throughout the week, walk in the house with duffle bags and walk out worth nothing. Then he would make his trip to Texas again. One of the coolest neighbors I’ve ever had. That man seriously was sending a million or more a month across the border. And like I said he worked all together about a week out of the month. He had a wife that owned a strip club and was funneling his money through there. I’ve heard conflicting stories about him, I heard the feds finally got him, then I heard he got killed by someone in America, then I heard the cartel in Mexico killed him….. then the last ( and hopefully true ) story I heard was him and his wife sold the strip club, took all their money and bought a farm wayyyyyyyyuu out in the beautiful country side of Mexico and they live like king and queen and never have to worry about money for the rest of their lives. I lived next to Manuel for about 3 years and he had already lived in his house when I moved in and I would see the traffic for about 3 or 4 days a month. I can’t imagine how much money he had. This was back from 2009-2013. Seriously the biggest drug dealer I ever met. Never seen him sell to any junkies or anything like that. Just dudes driving nice vehicles with duffle bags. My man was a REAL duffle bag boy.

Although I would love to watch a show like this or watch Gus's past as @BilliamBusey pointed out going around and filling in all the details would probably ruin the show. While Vince and probably do it, I feel like the show wouldn't be as good as these two, because it would constricted by plot armor, like BCS was to some extent. I feel he had more room to play here because the main characters of BB(Walt and Jesse) were not playing any significant role in this series. I can't help but feel Lalo had a lot more story left in him, but he had to go due to the plot armor Gus had. With the added baggage of the storylines from BCS and BB, each new prequel would get harder to construct like and original show.

It is weird that Hector actor just died at 2023 or 2024, they were lucky to film better call saul with him still needed in the show but sometimes you are not that lucky , actor dies in the middle of the show and you get zero value out of your show.

Correct. Nacho's death scene (which arguably one of the best scene, if not the best, in Better Call Saul) wouldn't be as powerful if Hector Salamanca was not in there. That moment when Nacho poured all the shit from his mouth directly towards Hector

Would this have been a bad moment to mention that Hector had been taking six instead of five? You know, just for peace?

How did Hector not have a stroke here? It looked like he was having a heart attack when he turned around. But weren’t the pills already swapped? How was he fine?

Why should Hector care if they rely on Gus's trucks? He could have just shrugged and said "sure".

How does he take this magic pill that immediately cures him of a stroke? lol. Probably would be good for anyone to keep that shit handy.
