I know how to post a check or payment received however, How do you post a check received and post the deductions shown above the net? Do I do a journal entry if so I need the debit and credits to balance? So I need an expense account to balance with?

Hello Hector, thank you so much for these tips. They are very helpful. I currently have QBDT 2022 and for my job I work with QBO and I thoroughly prefer the desktop version. Anyway, I have a question on how to enter monthly payments I make to Robinhood and another stock brokerage firm. I have not cashed in any of the stocks I just make a monthly payment and I don't know how to record it in QBDT. Thanks in advance for any advise you can offer.

You can create a current asset account called “Brokerage Investments Robinhood”

I have the same issue Hector, and my enterprise accountant through the accountant menu there is a way to import transaction, has worked but can't assign classes! How to hundle that? Thank you

I have the 2022 Desktop version. I was looking for the Accountant tab, but my screen does not show that tab.

That means you have Pro or Premier.. you dont have “accountant”

Thank you very much for this content. Quick question, can you open and use a company file created in Quickbooks desktop non-profit edition with Quickbooks desktop Accountant edition? I’m using Quickbooks NP but do not use use it for donor management and would much rather have the capability of the accountant edition. Thanks

Yes accountant edition can open pro and premier… the “non-profit” is premier

My man, good stuff but forget the data entry, use a tool like eZ Import to batch in that entire spreadsheet.

@@HectorGarciaCPA it's pretty great actually; grants baby ETL capabilities from other systems. For instance I did not want to mess with having to import IIF files from ADP WorkForceNow and designed a PowerQuery flow that pulls all pertinent line items by class and customer:job into a vendor bill that acts as a journal entry, populating both expense and item lines as appropriate.
