Elon Musk didn’t name it. The two creators Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning did. Musk only became associated with Tesla after purchasing shares and becoming the largest shareholder a years later. People need to understand that Musk is an INVESTOR. That man didn’t create anything himself, he a rich person pretending to be the next Bill Gates. With that man’s ego, if Tesla wasn’t incorporated before he became a major shareholder, he would’ve probably named the company “Musk” and not Tesla.

i'm a media student and she was glossed over during my studies, I had to go out of my way to learn about her. says a lot about the patriarchy and how intimidating her beauty in combination with her brains were and still are, apparently. definitely one of the most interesting historical figures ever! I think part of her exoticism was her sultry look and dramatic bone structure, not her dark hair. Lamarr sent her oldest son, James, to boarding school when he was about 12 or 13 years old, and she never saw him again. She is said to have severed all ties with the boy, allowing him to live with the family of a teacher at the school. Her other two children claim not to remember ever seeing him around the house. She also failed to mention him in her will. He contested the will when she died in the year 2000. Supposedly, he was adopted during her marriage to Gene Markey, but later, it was proven that he was actually her natural son by John Loder, who became her third husband after she divorced Markey. Lamarr's daughter, Denise, stated that her mother once told her that James had 'hurt her.'

I can relate to her. I was always complimented on my figure/body. People stopped in the street to tell me things. I developed early in age and at one time considered cutting my breast off. I would be surrounded by the boys on the school bus upon trying to get off the bus at my stop, they grabbed ahold of anything they could reach, all while I'm punching and kicking to get away and off the bus. No the driver did nothing. I hated it. Didn't want to look like that and wanted to be liked for my mind, thoughts, ideas etc. I relate to her so very much.

That's so disgusting...I'm so sorry you went through such brutality since a very delicate age, it's heartbreaking....I'm sadly reminded of the movie Marlena as well. It was that way with women and with blacks. Elijah McCoy was one of the most famous. Often regarded as one of the most famous black inventors ever, McCoy was credited for 50 inventions over the span of his career. In an effort to improve efficiency and eliminate the frequent stopping necessary for lubrication of trains, McCoy devised a method of automating the task. In 1872 he developed a “lubricating cup” that could automatically drip oil when and where needed - vital in avoiding sticking to the track. The lubricating cup met with enormous success and orders for it came in from railroad companies all over the country. It was so popular that when other inventors attempted to steal his idea and sell their own versions of the device, companies were not fooled. They insisted on the authentic device, calling it “the Real McCoy.” He died an impoverished man and wasnt celebrated while he was alive.. That was shocking to me.

Hedy Lamarr was beautiful and brilliant. Today, she would be an independent inventor, not an actress. Back then, her beauty brought her to Hollywood. She was typecast in limiting roles based on her exotic beauty. She had a European sensibility and could have been a superstar with good roles there. But the money was in Hollywood and WWII was beginning. She was so brilliant that she invented Wifi, GPS, and Bluetooth. That, and "wings" for airplanes due to her collaboration with Howard Hughes. Am glad she received recognition before she died. But her beauty and genius worked against her then. She is an inspiration and way ahead of her time. There was an unfortunately too short-lived show called Timeless which involved time travel. In one of the episodes they travel to the 40s and meet Hedy Lamar.
