I had the pleasure of having the Lotus 380 Sport powered by Laptime Performance. As per usual with their cars, they are not stock - nor is this one. A few modifications to the exhaust + a new custom suspension makes this Exige a race car for the road. The biggest pleasure for me whenever I have these cars is sharing the experience with others.

Lotus's market department functions on nothing but off brand biscuits, a gift voucher for marketing weekly and the money they found under their sofa... honestly though they really need to invest in proper social media influencers/eWOM. They can have a good market presence for not much money if they were smart. However you never see any marketing/advertising positions open on their career page... so what can you do.

@@frost6916 I bought a Lotus Elise Series 1. I like the looks of the first gen car, particuarly the interior; and it is also the lightest of the more modern cars at around 725kg. I think a series 2 car is likely to be the cheapest way in.

If you really want to be blown away by this video, pay attention starting at 9:37, when the camera isn't focused properly. You can see that the man is actually driving in reverse! Shifting through all of his reverse gears, looking up into his rear view mirror. Truly excellent driving! I'm joking, of course. Really, though, this was a great video. I loved seeing how many people were having such a good time riding in this beauty of a car.

Okay. I have an 06 Exige with a BOE supercharger and some suspension upgrades like Nitron coilovers. So it handles like a go-kart, and at 2000lbs, (900Kg), it's quick. It's every bit as fun as any of these Exige / Elise videos would lead you to believe. Mine is putting out 276HP at the wheels, and I'm trying to get my head around what it would be like with another 100HP. This thing must be insane, as I suspect it's putting out quite a bit more than the rated 380HP. Now add to that the fact that his skill level is waaaaay above mine. As an Exige owner, I'm trying to extrapolate what his car must be like, and it must be complete sensory overload for his passengers. There's really nothing else like these cars, and certainly nothing else even remotely like his.

its a toyota v6 (2GR-Fe), lotus doesn’t change anything but adding a supercharger and making it rear engine, it sounds as heavenly is MR2’s and some is350’s (check my page)

OK, I watch a *ton* of youtube car videos. I am obsessed. This is hands down the best car video on youtube. This driver is an absolute machine; poetry in motion.

Look, I know this a very late comment, and I don't know if @Heel and Toe will ever read it, but I'll go back in time just to tell my younger self to grow upto be this guy. Please allow me to elaborate. 1) He made two strangers laugh, and clap in multiple ways, one silent but with the 'funny' face, one with the animated laugh. The powerslides, the downshift pulls, the shifter clunk, they enjoyed every bit of it. 2)That officer is low key impressed and he's hiding the suprising joy of motion. 2)He made the week of the mature petrolhead. She's smiling before she's 4-point buckled in, howling, clapping her thighs, bracing herself, gasping, barely containing her girlish ecstasy. 3)He had a good bit of bonding with his father, right from the start. The old man's scared a bit, sure, probably thinks it's stupid, but he cracks jokes and laughs with his son. 4)Alright let's talk about the girl. Now, disclaimer, they just could be friends, I understand. But, oh boy. This needs sub-points in itself. -I don't understand German, but he probably asks for consent before he drops a gear, and she loves the blip, pulls her legs closer in surprise. Notice that she always loves downshifts, often in aroused disbelief. -She's not anticipating those lat g forces and that pace on public roads. -She mentions auto gearboxes, and autoblip, presumably paddles, but the way he works the stick impressed her enough to literally bite her lips. Remember that. HE EARNED A LIP BITE. -She's exhasuted in the end, audibly so, and he ASKS if they should finish the ride. (I'll go all the way to put a ring on a woman, but I need a lip bite from her, for my downshifts, before I say the vows.) 5)The intro and outro are beautiful, the music chosen is right. The traffic is sparse enough, the wet German roads, presumably autumn, are heaven. (The roundabouts!!!?!) 6)THE Lotus. THE Lotus. Not the Elise, not the Evora, not the Emira, not the damn SUV, not the damn hypercar. The feminine, athletic, lithe Exige Sport. V6 sound good enough to earn the nod of approval from Dino 246 and Stratos. Mechanical LSD, some aero, 3 pedals, metal shift nob, 4 point Schroth's and perfect bolsters, two graceful gauges, and a beautiful Brabham like color scheme. Oh, those eyes! Such a feminine design. 7)Had a blast himself doing what he loves, and although everbody was surprised, but it was CONSENSUAL with each. And he took measured risks throughout. I want to live this once. Once. Thanks, man. Just know that you inspired some stranger across the seas. ❤

Don't confuse yourself. Even though it is a camry engine you cannot expect the reliability of a camry engine. A regular toyota camry puts 50 times less stress on this engine in day to day life. Thus reliability. The moment you begin to push an engine s limit the reliability goes down. The likelyhood of this developing problems later on is.. very likely.
