They’re hardly underrated
@flywithtb50054 жыл бұрын
They are not underrated they are just bad. An Evora costs as much as a Porsche Carrera but it is INSANELY unpractial and has absolutely no interoir at all. That wouldnt be so bad if they used the saved money to add more power. But they feel powerful bcs they are light but if I remove all the interior and Luxus features of a Porsche it would feel even more powerful and would cost less. Would it be a Lotus you'd pay more for less. They totally overpriced. Like 20k pounds. They right way should be less interior -> less cost, thats why MX-5 is popular and Lotus isnt.
@LukeEvans554 жыл бұрын
@@flywithtb5005 You sound like someone trying to justify their midlife crisis 911 purchase. The new Evora interior is actually really nice, and comes with a slick manual box and no laggy turbo power delivery or crap electric steering. Porsche do exactly what you say and remove the interior and then charge 3x more... It's called a GT3 lmao. Try driving even an elise and you'll understand just how much more involved and exciting an experience it is, it feels like nothing else I've ever driven. By comparison a cayman is good too but it feels very normal.
@flywithtb50054 жыл бұрын
@@LukeEvans55 You just sound like somebody who hasn't driven a Porsche at all. And I ustify a future Mx-5 purchase. I absolutely like the Elise and wish I could buy one. Then I typed in Elise new price 50k Eiuros!!!!!!!!!!! With no interior. Imagine buying a Miata and modifying it for 20k (nearly double the price). And perhaps you don't own a car, but a manual gearbox or eletric steering isn't something you should pay more if you choose it as an extra. If Lotus did the Elise for 35k or at least 40k we both agree it would be everybodys dream car. But on the streets I don't see Lotus at all and I have an idea why. Evora vs 911 is a prime example for usage/price. Lexus LFA is also a good example. Or the new Honda NSX.
@flywithtb50054 жыл бұрын
And if you complain for some reason modifying a Miata would made it heavier you could strip the (quality made) interior out. That would make you paying money for getting less but that's what Lotus does. I wonder why don't more ppl do this, seems UnDeRaTeD

Fun fact. Lotus had plans for a small lightweight mid engined sports car called the M90 (or sometimes called the X100) back in the late '70s/early '80s as a collaboration with Toyota using mostly Toyota parts. Lotus already had the Esprit so abandoned the project and used some of their research moving forward with the M100 Elan. Lotus gave everything for the M90/X100 to Toyota and it became the MR2 AW11 which sold waaaay better than the M100 Lotus. Since then Lotus and Toyota have had a good relationship.

Implying that there isn't passion when creating ferrari's or other cars is blatently wrong. As for the people that buy/drive them, those people tend to usually be the ones that wanted a Ferrari/Lambo since they were children. Saying that people that drive Ferrari/Lambo's don't have a personality or passion just shows your insecurity in the cars that you like

@@boltmix7294 Ha ha ha. Shut up you fucking tool. I'm making a point about how common the other marques are, and how most of the current crop of supercar KZbinrs lack originality and instead choose to go with the flock. I wasn't making a comment about the quality of the cars, or about passionate collectors. And speaking of insecurity, yours is on full display right now.

The evora is my favorite lotus model ever, great elegance to its lines, practical with 4 seats and a truck and a Toyota drivetrain, decently comfortable, looks like 120k but is 40k. Manual only, quirky enough to be very very doug friendly, properly fast and handle amazing. Ticks all of the boxes excluding the weird key immobilizer lock unlock system

:) I drove and exige on Silverstone. It corners so fast I went a little dizzy. It handles so well. The guy teaching me showed me how it was done. He drifted round all the ferraris and carried so much speed he was on their arse down the straights. The whole time I could hear the little super charger wizzing. I was (and still am) a crap driver, but in that even I could catch up with ferraris round the corners. Quotes of the century from Rob (my teacher) "the Apex is over THERE!!" "Drive the car, your letting it drive you!" "ahh, stay in second, she likes being overrevved" (through a chicane) and finally "Don't drive slower, break harder"
