I can total relate to the first part. A girl that takes lessons with me has a bad jumping position when I do. But when ever she rides with me she can always keep her horse going and is in better control over it. Me on the other hand,I can control the horse but se times I have trouble. But when you said don't compare you self to them. I thought you know what I will get there some day! Thx girl! You guys are such an inspiration to me. And you inspire me to get better and keep trying😄 thanks so much!!

I can totally relate to the whole confidence thing! 2 years ago my pony spooked while I was cantering and I fell off and fractured my back. I had to wear a back brace for a long time. Once I recovered and started riding the same pony that threw me off, again I fell off when she bucked and broke my wrist! I have gathered my confidence back up and now jumping courses! Life is now good!!!

When I was 5 I had a really bad fall when I was galloping on my cousins horse. I scraped all the skin off my back and is possibly the reason I suffer from a back injury., I got back in the saddle though. Ever since then I sometimes struggle with my confidence. I can't afford to own a horse so I do weekly riding lessons and I do camps. My confidence is really good now because the horses at my stable helped me get through a tough situation so knowing that they did that really helps. So if anyone else struggles with there confidence my tips are to: 1. Try to ride as often as possible 2.get comfortable doing the basics 3. Trust your horse If you have that special bond with your horse than getting your confidence back will be easier I hope this helps someone.

I can definately relate to this. I had a bad fall with Jaffa during a jumping lesson last summer, I still get tense while riding him. So jumping isn't one of my favourite things at the moment... And I agree with you, confidence is such an important part of this sport and you need confidence if you wanna get somewhere. :)

I fell off my 16hh ottb lease a couple weeks ago and only walked away with three bruises on my hand, I had my first ride back on him yesterday, and we were great together. :')

I took a break from riding once. I had been riding since i was 5 and after 9 years of riding, my mum said I could try something new but I'd had to stop lessons. so i decided to try music, I only played my guitar for about 4 months and dropped it compeletely, and started to miss riding a lot. 2 years after I stopped i started lessons again (this past November) and I noticed that i got a lot more confident with my riding after my break. The only real confidence issue I've had and am still having is the fact that I've been jumping 2'6 for five years and have never competed, and then I see people who have been riding for 2 years, own their own horses and are competing over 3'. It makes me feel like I'm a bad rider.

I'm really scared of the day I will fall on my back because I get the wind knocked out of me extremely easily , like once a fell half a foot of of something and got the wind knocked out of me, it was weird, but then once I fell about 5 feet of a rail thing and I thought I had broken ribs and my back plus the wind was knocked out of me really bad. But I try to set that aside in my head,mans if that day comes when I have the bad fall, so be it, but I'm going to keep riding!

I had a really bad fall and broke my arm i didn't ride for a month and still haven't really rode again i ride both styles but i have been riding in a western saddle since its more secure i am really scared to ride english and jump again but no one knows it i don't know wat to do

i had a terrible fall off of my old horse and broke my back and part of my pelvic and i couldn't ride him again after that my mom sold him as i was wasting him i got SOME confidence back and went and bought a mare and she has taken care of me so much. btw what is your bird called its so funny xx

This month ( 8th of May) I had my first fall and I'm fine I'm not hurt or something but I'm feeling really dubious like "what if I'm not that confident again? Get a saddle fitter, they will tell you brands that will fit your horse. Pessoa is a quality brand but that does not mean it is good for your horse.

pessoa is an AMAZING saddle!u just have to soap and oil them quite a bit as the leather is quite fragile and wears easily

Taylor McBride So I think if I point my toes it will hurt the horse (even though it doesnt XD) but it just helped me to think having heals down will be more confortable for them XD Even though they don't feel it but just think like that :)
