Again, stellar Teaching Marcus! But on the extra spline issue, I grooved the lower torsian bar and the rear (added spines) unlike you did with the torsians. But Excellent!

Do you sell anything already pre made? Like the torsion bars? I own an 87 Civic sedan and I'd really love to lower it with this method until I can afford to buy an all around setup.
@Heeltoe.6 жыл бұрын
You can lower the car by adjusting the torsion bar adjusting nut. If you reindex without installing the performance damper kit you will find the shocks are bottoming out and it will handle really poorly.

Hey guys me again . Quick question kinda iff topic? Will rear acura rsx coilovers fit on 84-87 honda civic? They look like they would .perfect fit from how it looks . What you guys think???
@Heeltoe.6 жыл бұрын
Any shock with an eye-mount at the bottom, an integrated spring seat, and correct overall length will fit. That doesn't mean they will work right.

True . We wont knw untill we try it.

I'm no mechanic but could you just buy a longer adj nut to wind it out more? Iam planing to purchase new oem struts and lower them as coilovers are expensive to ship and Australian road laws don't allow you to have coilovers to get my civic lower and refreshed. By re indexing the torsion bars will the oem replacement struts bottom out?? Or is it just worth me biting the bullet and getting a set of bc racing coilovers as there are local suppliers here down under ( I would love a set of your tein medieval pros but the exchange rate and shipping kill me)

It's important to know that the damper stroke and the height (torsion bar index/adjustment) are separate factors on these cars. So yes reindexing the bar will cause it to lower the car and reduce travel, making you bottom out more if you use standard length dampers. And sure putting a longer bolt would allow lower adjusting but that is also not really ideal compared to simply changing the arm one spline and keeping the standard range of adjustment.

I'm having a heck of a time finding CRX torsion tubes for my 89 integra. Do you guys sell the torsion tubes or integra length torsion bars?

Hey, i know this video is 6 years old but i wanted to ask a question if anybody reads this, I have a 1987 civic sedan and the front suspension is doing things it should not( hitting on literally every bump) and i noticed the car a little lower than usual so my question was is it possible that the torsion bars are bad and lost their elasticity and strained? Or if not could it be the dampers/struts
@Heeltoe.11 ай бұрын
Not super likely, more likely the dampers are bad. We have new KYB ones available at Heeltoe!
@talhaikram919110 ай бұрын
@@Heeltoe. I will look into those dampers but I have one more question, If I tighten both height adjustment bolts that attach to the torsion bar all the way, can anything go wrong or should i not tighten it all the way? It is because my civic is riding quite low and until I get new dampers, I don't want it to hit bumps.

Will they fit on a wagon?
@Heeltoe.4 жыл бұрын
The wagons have a lot shorter tubes. These aren't designed for wagons.

More likely the dampers are shot but it's certainly possible that the torsion bar may not be acting right. That being said if the car is able to support itself and spring up and down, then the torsion bar is working. I've never heard of one just getting weak though.
@talhaikram919110 ай бұрын
@@Heeltoe. Yes it is springing right but just somewhat low and hitting bumps.
