Hey guys love the videos about the torsion bars. But I have one question to make sure I understand this correctly. So if I don’t use aftermarket shocks that are shorter then factory, you don’t have to rekey the torsion bars? I have an 87 civic si with the torsion bars, I’ve lowered the front(to the height I want it at) but I want it to feel a bit stiffer since I do some autoX and spirited driving in the car.

Curious...I'm working on the suspension of my 87 CRX HF. Have you replaced the lower control arm and replace the bushing? I'm doing that now. I saw one video where they pressed the bushing onto the lower control arm and then slid the arm into the subframe. That allowed the arm to be moved up and down to match where the radius arm and sway bar were. My bushing acts like it needs to be pressed into the subframe and will have no give so I'd have to figure out exactly the angle of the lower control arm to make it match up with the radius arm and sway bar. Thoughts? Wonder if I have the wrong bushing maybe?

Hi there, I have not replaced the lower arm bushings, asuming you are referring to the torsion arm bushing that the end of the torsion bar goes into? It would need to be indexed correctly, yes, to avoid pre-loading the bushing in a weird way.

Good video and Hello from Germany :) i have question so when i buy a medieval torsion bar for 1986 Civic does the torsion bar stand a little bit out so is that bad or does that effect something ?
@Heeltoe.5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes the bar is a bit long, and this is really no a functional issue. Not bad. We wish we could have one size fit all perfect but Honda made 4 different bar length, and we cannot produce so many.
