When she sang this song on "You're Super", she was only 15 years old. It's not just a show, it's a social project. Where orphans who were left without a mother and father participate. In the program "You are super", only orphans participate, and there is only a live voice. It was created in order to show the whole world that orphaned children are no worse, and maybe a ray of those who grew up in a full-fledged family. And to show those people who took these children into their family, and raised them as their own. The essence is simple, you need to sing so that at least three people would press the green button, then you go to the next round. Before the performance of each child, they show and tell his story. (it is impossible to look there without tears ), one 4-year-old girl was found in a garbage dump, where she was trying to find something to eat, her drug-addicted parents left her there to die and left. Diana Ankudinova was found in the cold when she was 3 years old, Diana had a broken collarbone and a chest injury, she could hardly speak and stuttered a lot. Diana was sent to a shelter, where a physiotherapist-masseur adopted her. The foster mother took Diana to Laura, who advised her to take Diana to singing courses, so that her speech would develop better. That's how little Diana began to sing. All the finalists of "You are super" (12 people) receive a cash allowance until they come of age, and pay for studies in music, variety and acting schools. And the finalists of the super season "You are super", plus, received new apartments with furniture in Moscow as a gift. (all 12 people)

All can be found on her KZbin Channel and she doesn't block or copyright, the NTV station is aggressive in copyrights for the video portion of the 7 songs she performed on You Are Super, audio is fine. Derniere Danse is a brilliant performance at the Kremlin, this a long version of the song, Diana is wearing a Black Dress. Good luck, each performance is an experience.

(15yo) Diana has said this is her favourite song to sing because the original singer has a deep baritone so Diana's natural dramatic contralto makes this very comfortable for her to sing quite naturally! The part where Diana goes full "Shamanic" is phenomenal isn't it! Diana "Pierces your soul" with all her intense emotional songs, she is a master at it! If you want a good closeup of her larynx have a look at her performance on this show of "Wicked Game" another spectacular performance at 15yo. Diana flew out on the 8th September, and performed on September 9th, in the cultural and entertainment complex "Navruzgokh" in Dushanbe, a theatrical show "Thirty Bright Stars" took place, in which more than 20 thousand people took part. The concert was attended by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. Diana was the only Russian performer at this show as an invited guest. An enormous honor for her at 18yo! The song "Tajikistan" is a new original song specially written for this celebration. Diana's beautiful dress is an exclusive handmade national dress that was presented to her on arrival. The whole ceremony took several hours and was VERY grand! After the performance, Diana took an early morning flight back to Moscow so she could film the next episode of the new show "ШоуМАСКгоон" (She's completed filming on 5 out of 9 episodes!) Things are looking BUSY for Diana!

I had completely forgotten that you are from Norway. I only hear a very slight accent and not enough of one to have been able to pinpoint where you are from if you had not said it. Your English is SO great! With all the space on Diana's lower register, she could cover Elvis if she felt like it (Cher covered at least one Elvis song and Diana's tone is even more deep that Cher's). Maybe some Johnny Cash. Rag 'N' Boone Man also has a music video for this song, completely different than what Diana did with this. Her creativity is yet another reason to watch everything she has on the internet. Just AMAZING. Some of her stages, like the one for Wicked Game, are really something to behold and really add to the song. She has covered a French song that she loves, Dernier Danse, a few different times. On one of those stages (I THINK it was at The Kremlin but I might be wrong), they had a tornado moving around on screens behind her and there was a fog machine going. AMAZING song and she KILLED it, PLUS the imagery really adds to the experience. She KNOWS what she is doing. Diana has her own YT channel and she has covers and her own original songs on it. She seemed to have a lot of fun covering Camila Cabello's song Havana. You get to see her throat and facial expressions all throughout that video so you can figure out what she is doing and how. :)

Rechenka is her best, as to me. But you could also take a look at Finicky (Stubborn) Horses, maybe next time. Did you notice that all her songs are distinct in that they convey some deep meaning, which makes Diana's performances all the more mesmerizing? She is really captivating, taking your soul and talking to it directly... taking you up into the skies, bringing back to Earth and the again into the skies. Unbelievable. ;))

Thank you so much, I’m glad you liked it! ☺️ I struggle to find the proper terms as English is my second language, and all my music studies were in Norwegian. I also want it to be accessible and not too heavy, so at first I didn’t want to do any analysis in my reactions. But now people seem to like it so I’ll keep going. Thank you! I use dark and light when referring to tone/timbre, and low/high if I’m referring to frequency/pitch. I’m really happy people, like yourself, want to talk music on here ☺️ Have a great weekend!

Great reaction! If you like her stage presence and that tribal sound you should listen to Rechenka (The River) which she sang at 14. It is based on Russian folktales about a young betrothed orphan girl who goes to the river, the boundary between the living and the dead, to ask her deceased mother's blessing for her marriage. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2HWnZx-qM94qJY Ironically, Diana herself was an orphan who was abused and abandoned by her alcoholic mother. Because of this beginning, she had speech problems and she was given singing lessons to help improve her speech. Her talent was quickly recognized and the rest is history.

I read about Diana (only briefly on Wikipedia, so not the full picture) before this reaction, as some people recommending her had told me she had an interesting story. It's heartbreaking, but it's also super impressive how she's turned her life around using her talent. I didn't know that it was her speech problems that led to her taking vocal lessons, but what a story! Thank you for sharing :)

The jojk (singing technique from northern Norway, Sweden and Finland), is a Sami singing style for sure, but Diana is from Siberia, where, the (according to history books anyway) the Sami people originated from, so its perhaps not that strange that her "jojking) is similar to the Sami jojk! :) (Thats what i´we learned in Swedish textbooks anyway)

Allowe me please recomend a new Diana's the " killing me softly" song that just became available on UT ( 25th). She does cover Elvis Presley " Can't help falling in love with you". It is a killer!
