I REALLY appreciated the honesty - mentioning your falls and bad days. It is really encouraging to the rest of us on the same journey. Thank you.

Omg you're back. You were like the only british person ive seen doing a roller skating journey, as most people skating are from America. I'm British too ans haven't skated in years. Well i only tried it once. But the other day i got roller skates and have been out a few times. But i was terrified of falling... until i re watched your roller skating journey, as it was one of the best. And wow, it inspired me to go down that skatepark and get my skates on. And i did. And yeah i looked like a penguin. But i was moving a little for the first time. And I'd never thought I'd let go of the rail. So thank you for your videos. They were amazing. I loved your roller skating journey. And I'd love to skate oneday with other skaters. But i dont think theres any in dorset lol. Anyaay, have a great day and so excited for your video. N to see you get so good at skating is so inspiring. You did well. And i might even do a roller skating video too. ❤

You really got my attention while doing your videos about roller skating. I know own rollers myself and actually struggle more than you do in a couple of months. Like, I skate for for about 3 months now? And I really don't know how to skate backwards, and that's ok I guess? But, really, you reaaaally inspires me. I see myself struggling with the simple basics of skating forwards and remember your videos and I'm like,, "oh if I keep going maybe I can do Hegla's stuff". And that's ok. Thank you so much, I hope you continue recording this

I feel like you went full on hard mode by starting out with skating on a rough ground. I know, I know you can just go get softer tires, but still: hard flat floors make skating soooo much easier especially to begin with. Having something to hold on to and stop yourself and stuff like that. You just went all in on the hardest setting... cudos to you! I respect that!

I love this video. I have been skating for about a year and three months and people don't know the journey. You fall hundreds of times. It takes a certain mental clearance and confidence in technique to get good at something. I love do spins, jumps, and speed skating. The falls are what makes it fun. I still fall just as much as always, mainly because I've been doing jump 360s (started landing them on my last skating session), but that is what makes landing something satisfying. I really want to learn an axel next, but I think I'm going to need a helmet, just thinking about it makes me scared. Anyway keep it up and keep trying new things

Great video and great progress. Good for you 👍. It’s inspiring to people. People skate for different reasons but you mentioned music and I don’t enjoy skating as much without it. I like to rhythm skate and skating is a form of expression for me. I like to listen to dance music and JB music when I skate. If you’re listening to music and can start adding variety and moves with cadence it takes it to another level. I was immediately hooked and it did for me anyway. Catching a rhythm on some skates feels amazing. If anyone wants to try this I recommend starting with something with a low tempo. Something in a 80-95 bpm is pretty ideal Imo and why the JB music works so well. Have fun and happy skating 👍.

I learned skating backwards when I was tyring to learn spins at my first week lol. Some muscle memory kicked in from my childhood ice skating days and I started to skating backwards but I had no idea how I did it. I could only do that when I was listening music then I realised I was moving my hips when I listen music so that was how I was doing. It is weird how my brain knows how to do it but also have no clue about it and can't do it if I try to think lol. So I say get loose, dance and try to not think about it too much. Your body gonna figure it out lol.

@ambervanvliet41222 жыл бұрын
Inline is actually way different than rollerskating, mostly because the balance works really different. It's both fun tho. Rollerskating is (in my opinion) more fun to do at one location and to just try spins and transitions, and inline skating is cool for long distance or skatepark skating.

EVERYONE I HAVE GOOD ADVICE FOR SUPER BEGINNERS! If you have the resources, I'd HIGHLY recommend going to a rink. Both for inline and quad skaters. There's three big advantages to this, 1. You get over the fear of embarrassing yourself in front of people because you're learning for the first time in front of a bunch of people 2. If, no, WHEN you fall, it's on a smoother surface than concrete or asphalt. Though falling a lot will result in many bruises, just a heads up 3. A lot of people who go to the rink are either hobbyists, professionals or beginners like you. There will be a lot of people willing to teach you the proper methods and there will be a lot of people falling along with you. It also helps to have a friend with you, especially if they're as bad as you or worse. The cons of this method though is travel and money. Thought most rinks are inexpensive. If you don't have one near you, then skate parks are just as good. And, if you're like me and living in a small town with no skate park and no car, just find any basketball court, parking lot or really any slab of flat concrete and get skating!
