St. Boniface is awesome. Cafe postal is the best coffee in the city in my opinion. ☕

Thanks for making this video! I'm originally from Winnipeg, but I've lived in Toronto for nearly 30 years. I'm planning on moving back though and I've been considering St. Boniface as a place to live.🙂

You can buy a beautiful house have all the special festivals and events nearby. Some of best small restaurants, diners, icecream places, and cafes. Art galleries, museums, river trail parks, and a big library. As well it has a wide range of housing within old St.Boniface. It has good healthcare services, schools and the University. All that and within walking distance to the Folks and downtown. Close to two large malls one in St. Vital and the other KP in Transcona Kildonan as well the South Dale shopping strip malls. Bike riders and hikers love the river trails that litteraly line the whole area. Great area for fishing and canoes too. It was a blue collar area close to the meat packers and rail services that run in the St.B industrial area. Those industries where mostly in agriculture and food manufacturing. That is still some of that areas focus but also in other services. That said the biggest downside to St. Boniface is the mushroom farm Love Day. They are a great product but they do get delivery of fresh medium which is a bit sticky on hot days. Some of the houses in that area are more affordable due to this but it isn't all the time. A touch of bacon still can be smelled near Maple Leaf as well sometimes but is delightful. Most of old St. B is not smelly and is normal. Norwood is a good neighboring area of Old St.Boniface and goes towards the posh area of Norwood Flats. Both along with North St.Boniface as prime areas if you enjoy living in well developed inner areas. Otherwise one can try the suburb of Sage Creek!

@XxxXxx-fm3wo Thanks so much for all this helpful information! Winnipeg has changed so much since I lived there. That said, it's so encouraging to hear that St. Boniface has maintained so much of its charm.🤩🙂

I was planning on retiring back in Winnipeg after working many years in the U.S. The state of the country under Trudeau makes that a no go for now.

We are actually great with Trudeau.

Well, I'm not. When I left Winnipeg to go to work, the Canadian dollar was .98 cents compared to the U.S. dollar. It is now .73 cents and dropping. Why would I take my hard earned money and buy property in Winnipeg and see my investment continue to melt away because Canada has not invested in productivity. Trudeau's government based the economy on speculative real estate. That's ok if you already own property, but it is very difficult for a single person like me to afford a decent home. I still want to retire back in Winnipeg, maybe in a year or two.
