Buenos dias realmente se puede aplicar una kata como tal con movimientos ordenados en una pelea real ? Cuando no hay movimientos ordenados en la calle es una duda q tengo y creo q x eso el karate es tan criticado por q se cree q no funciona en una pelea callejera quisiera poder demostrar q realmente el karate funciona en la calle y donde sea como sea aun las katas con mayor razon pero q sea una buena explicación d como aplicar el karate en la calle arigato gosai maistha

Ivan, kata is important for developing fundamentals (stances, guard, look-find-commit, balance, footwork) for ENTRY POINTS TO ALTERNATIVE APPLICATIONS. In other words, kata shows you multiple ways of dealing with the same attack. Much is actually hidden in kata. You always need a Plan B if Plan A doesn’t work. You’re correct that a street fight is not orderly. Therefore, you must be able to improvise with “mushin” (no mind). You are like water; you react according to your adversary’s actions with no preconceived thoughts, based on what YOU know. Not what HE knows. That is the ART of karate, not the sport. I’m a nidan in Shinto-Ryu, 14 years.
