Lawrence Tierney is criminally underrated nowadays. One of the best tough guys of the classic era. He was great in Born To Kill (1947), directed by Robert Wise as well.

Lawrence Tierney was, by all accounts, a bit of a handful. Chris Penn tells some hilarious stories about hanging out with Tierney during the shooting of ...Dogs. Well, when I say 'hanging out', it really sounds like you were held hostage by him until he was done with you. 😁

Tierney was quite the psychotic off screen as well. He made some good movies: BORN TO KILL, TOUGH GUYS DON'T DANCE and RESERVOIR DOGS immediately come to mind.
