Im 67 and have HPV and just found out i have cervical cancer and i had no idea how or why this happened, i was married 48 years ,just lost my husband this year and,never thought id have this nasty virus ,i always had notmal pap test till now. Im devastated and i had a leep procedure done ,it didn't work so i go this Monday for another Leep procedure, i pray it works , please pray for me 😢🙏

I'm praying for you. My doctor told me like 90% of people get hpv in their lifetime men and women and don't even know they have it. In most people it clears on its own...similar to a cold...but other people...I forgot what he said the percentage was, it just lingers and grows for some reason

Sorry to hear this is happening to you! 😢 I feel your pain! Ive learned that the HPV shows up when we dont eat well and stressful life events leave our immune system on low levels and this is how viruses and diseases show up. HPV is no different

There are many women who have had the vaccine and still get HPV and go on to develop cervical cancer. The vaccine does not completely protect you from this so it is very important to attend all of your pap smears when you are invited to do so.

Yes, the vaccine doesn't totally prevent it. I ended up with POTS from the vaccines and still got high risk hpv...

True I had them and now I’m bleeding and won’t stop. Doctors trying to stop my bleeding so they can do a smear and also a examination. They worried it’s cervical cancer and cervical cancer has been in my family twice. One person was my mother and she had to have a total hysterectomy at 27 years old and was diagnosed at 23 xx

100%! I keep stating the sentence the nurse said when she gave me the covid19 shot "this is not a silver bullet, you still need to protect yourself". Same with HPV. Protect your body, your diet, your emotions.

I am her age & I have asked for the hover vaccine, since it came out first I was told they were giving kids they vax & there’s not enough. The finally year before last I asked again & she said they are not giving them to my age ladies. Ok ? But we still have to have a yearly Pap test . I will of course continue to get checked up. My good friend passed away at age 44 she had gone for testing once a year , all through her pregnancy & the cancer was not detected until she gave birth to a new baby at 43. The Dr figured the reason it was stage 4 when they found it ,was because it grew super fast from all the blood flow & pregnancy hormones. RIP 🌷💕

14th August 2024 I get a letter saying I am due for a yearly Pap smear so I went to my new doctor and she said my last Pap smear was in November and it showed I tested positive for the HPV But not HPV 16,18 she said if I was positive for the 16 18 I would need a colonoscopy Lately I’ve been experiencing constant pelvic pain so tomorrow 16 August I am having a internal pelvic ultrasound My other doctor never told me I was positive for the HPV 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m 6 years post menopausal feel like my body is falling apart

I had cervical cancer in my 30s and through the whole process I was never told anything about HPV, NOTHING! Only time anyone has mentioned it is during a follow up a few years ago and after another biopsy. I was told I was HPV free. Did I ever have it? I assume so but Idk?

I was diagnosed and treated at age 28 I had to fight to get them to treat it. They wanted to leave it. U are ur own advocate. Preventive tests are where it is at. DON'T EVER THINK IT WON'T HAPPEN TO U. IT DID ME. I am covid unvaxxed tho. Evaluate your personal records and learn about it

Thank you for your comment! Currently fighting it because 5+ years ago and countless colposcopys later... here I am with cancer. The whole "Oh, you had the shot as a teen? Your immune system should kick the virus in a few months!" Yeah. No. Find a second opinion! I'm immune compromised and CLEARLY should have had this wiped sooner! It's bs being a woman! Your own fellow woman kind won't listen to you at times because we were so stigmatized by the patriarchal world we live in, that we are taught to "keep quiet" about the things that are bothering us, or be accused of "whinning" SCREW IT. The vaccine should be available to women of all ages. The problem is that if you are out of the recommended age range their medical malpractice insurance provider will have a problem with them giving it to you. Keep going, find a cash only doctor and get the vaccine.

I had CIS from HPV 31 years ago. It is gone now no virus. Get your Pap smear. Didn’t sound like she had one

Vaccine doesn't cover all strains there have been plenty stories of women still getting hpv and cancer even vaccinated

I believe you have to have had zero exposure, in order to have the vaccine. Once you are exposed to it, the vaccine doesn't help. That is why the recommended age is 12 although I dare say, many kids are sexually active even before that. Or exposed through sexual abuse when very young.

This poor woman has just gone thru a painful and traumatic event that she is desperately trying to help prevent others from going thru by bringing awareness! I think we can cut her some slack on her position of comfort at this point! ❤ God bless you my friend. 🙏
