Wow Great Job Heidi. I took an upholstery class years ago. I have a few pieces that need to be redone. Im inspired now. One thing we did in upholstery class was to steem the chair to tighten all the fabric to give it that extra professional look. Great job

I can’t even tell you how much I appreciate you making this video! I have 2 wing back chairs that I got for free from my parents neighbor and I painted one and it turned out ok, but wasn’t what I really wanted in my home so I ripped all the fabric off. They have both been sitting in my garage collecting sawdust because I wasn’t brave enough to attempt reupholstering them because even though I own a sewing machine I am completely lost in the sewing world. I feel confident I can do this! Seriously thank you!!! You did a fantastic job explaining and your chair looks fabulous!!!

Heidi, Heidi, Heidi!!!! You put the work into this DIY! You have WAY more patience than I do. My husband was an upholsterer in his younger days and he said he would NEVER go back to doing it. LOL Gorgeous!!!! Awesome job for your first time.

And proud you can be, Heidi!!! Wow, what great work you did!!! I've upholstered a chair once, too. But it was a bamboo one with two giant cushions so it was a lot less work that you had to put into this chair. My hands were bleeding as I had to use an upholstery needle to add a lot of those buttons tobring the cusshions to form. Sadly I did this way before my blogging time and I have almost no photos to create a tutorial.

Good job done. Eventually I have a wing back chair I got at the Salvation for less than $24.00 with the senior discount, which I'm going to try & recover. It was in really good shape a few years ago, no wear at all except the legs were scuffed as if someone kept hitting them with the vacuum cleaner.

Hey Heidi :) Which batting is that? I’ve been looking at thick cotton batting but it’s a little pricey. Is the one you’re using the upholstery batting roll from Michael’s? On their website, it says it’s approx. 12 yards. Thanks!!

It all depends on how much your fabric is, but I've linked all the tool supplies I used in my description box. It is a lot of work to reupholster a chair, but it's cheaper than buying a new one. Hope this helps
