Hello Heidi, love your informative videos. Can you tell me where I can purchase chamazulene essential oil.

Hi, Janice! Thank you! As far as the chamazulene, it's a chemical found in the "blue" essential oils that is very supportive of pain and inflammation. So, the essential oils to look for are German chamomile, yarrow, blue tansy, and perhaps some others.

Hi Heidi, I love your videos and your energy. I’ve listened to this video a couple times to be sure I understand the amount of oil infused arnica and comfrey for this recipe. I think you used a 1/2 cup arnica and 1/2 cup comfrey and combined them into the pan. Can you confirm this? So you generally make a lot more infused oils and just measure out what you need for any given recipe. Thanks for your time. Jo

Hi, Kathy! When I do a warm infusion in a double boiler, I'll often add a tablespoon or so of high proof alcohol just to help the plants release their constituents a bit more quickly. This isn't necessary, but if you plan on a longer warm infusion, it gives the alcohol a chance to evaporate, too.

Hello Heidi I'm new to essential oils. I enjoy making my own whipped Shea butter. However I have a question. There are times that I see essential oils that say not for use on skin. So I'm guessing they can only be used in a diffuser? Thank you for sharing.
@HeidiVillegas Жыл бұрын
Hmmm....there are very few EO's that can not be used topically, so I'm wondering if they've been adulterated (which is common among low-priced and low quality "oils"). The EO industry can be pretty shady. Some EO's are "hot", which means that great care needs to be taken so you don't exceed the maximum topical dilution level. I help students with all of this. And there are some excellent books out there, too, that are helpful.

What do you think about Revive Essential oils? They are organic and wild crafted.
@HeidiVillegas Жыл бұрын
I don't have experience with them. It really depends on whether or not they practice sustainability. Wildcrafted plants are often decimated for the almighty dollar. Organic plants are often mono-cropped, leaving the ground worthless. It just depends.... Do they have a personal relationship with the farms and the distillers? Are they aware of the harvest and processing practices of these farms? Is there adulteration involved? These are just some of the questions I ask when I start investigating a company. Then you can make a decision from there.

Would comfery salve help him in any way? Have you heard of anyone really healing from such a progressive bone loss? I wish i had known about this a year pr two ago..... I just made a comfrey salve today, I am hoping he will be open to trying it, if for nothing else pain reduction? Hoping hoping hoping he can avoid another surgery....
@HeidiVillegas4 ай бұрын
I'm so very sorry about your husband. Unfortunately, social media isn't a place where we can discuss specific health needs--- Please see if you can find an herbalist, functional medicine practitioner, or a real naturopathic doctor (ND) to help him one-on-one if you can. We would need to have a client-herbalist relationship for me to be able to help, and can't promise any kind of cure, treatment, diagnosis or prevention (as these are "medical" in nature.). But with all that said, comfrey may be helpful. You can give it a try! We have an amazing Comfrey Masterclass inside our herbal membership, the Confident Herbalist Tribe, and it's filled with information about how and why it works on the body, with clinical studies. You can also do some research on Google Scholar or the NIH.gov site for clinical studies on necrosis, too. I pray he finds relief!

Why not have a store where you sell the salves?
@HeidiVillegasАй бұрын
Several reasons: 1) the FDA doesn't like it when herbalists both sell and teach. They consider our teaching "marketing", so there's a very fine line to walk. 2) I prefer to empower people to make their own medicines because you learn to adjust the formulas to what your unique body needs. 3) I think most herbal products are WAY over-priced, when you can make a salve for pennies on the dollar. This is a great question, and I should probably make a video on this!
