I am 37 years old, 6'2 and about 180 lb. Recently while trying to start working out again I herniated two of my lower disc which is caused my sciatica and force me to wear a back brace and miss work. I'm getting ready for spinal decompression surgery. My chiropractor and my physical therapist which I am now forced to see three times a week told me that I will probably never be able to lift weights again. I have a power lifter background and I did a significant amount of time in prison where I did a lot of heavy heavy heavy calisthenics. This particular item seems perfect for when I start my road to recovery I need something that could support different angles and work out all different parts of my body through my own body weight and calisthenics and something that is portable and can be put away easy at home You did a great job of not only showing the product but explaining it very thoroughly. Just want to give credit where credits due. I don't have the money right now for missing work I've been dealing with the sciatica for 6 weeks and I haven't been able to work for the past too. But when I do start this journey I'm going to use the discount code you have I hope it's still available Thank you 💯

Sorry to hear about your injury. I hope the recovery is as smooth as it can be. And yeah, these parallettes would be great once you’re cleared for exercise. Another thing that’s portable and highly versatile is rings, so you might want evaluate the two and see which is the better option for you. Thanks for watching!

@@MinusTheGym I was going to mention RINGS since they cover the same range of exercices (but at a higher lvl of difficulty). Setting those up can be more challenging in a home since you need a system to hang them.

I like the idea of the mini bars the only thing I'm unsure of is the grip for hands compared to the wooden ones. I've tried a few different ones over the years and I've never experienced any better grip than the wooden ones
@MinusTheGym Жыл бұрын
Yeah, wood is definitely nice for grip. All the BaseBlocks bars including the mini bars use a matte finish on the metal. It’s slightly rough and fantastic for grip, imo.

@@MinusTheGym@sgct89 I just purchased the limited edition wooden mini bars. Hopefully they'll make those more available.

I love my minibars. Baseblocks rules. I’m going to grab their rings in the spring. I already have wooden rings but I’m a fanboy, so whatever lol.

Yeah, those carabiner rings are great!

Hey Jacob. Thanks! I really appreciate hearing that. I was super busy for the last couple months of 2022, but I'm back at it now. Stay tuned because I'll be publishing more content again.

Hello, Although those parallettes do seem very convenient, for people who like to do things themselves, making some wooden parallets is pretty easy. There are some good tutorials on KZbin, and it's a lot of fun to make. And I'm thinking that with a few tweaks, it shouldn't be too hard to make them modular :)
@MinusTheGym Жыл бұрын
You must be pretty handy! I once made parallettes out of PVC pipe and they didn’t last very long 😆
@Fitz557 Жыл бұрын
@@MinusTheGym I can believe that the pvc didn't last long :p But the wooden ones are quite reliable :) I followed this tutorial to make them : kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqfQn5udbq6oec0 And I'm thinking that with a few hacks, it could be possible to adjust the height (while remaining safe :) )

It seems very tempting but I have 2 types parallettes one low to the ground as well as the more elevated ones. Very tempting though.
@MinusTheGym Жыл бұрын
Yeah, you’re good then. No need for a 3rd set lol

How do you feel about using resistance band to help get full range of motion?? I found it worked best for me in my pistol squat training, one can really see the progression switching to a lighter rubber band. I'm currently using a band to help me push up from tripod position, have also used it in my straddle plance training.
@MinusTheGym Жыл бұрын
Yes, bands are great. I use them myself for both resistance and assistance. They’re highly versatile.

Which position do you use for push ups? Also would you say these make your wooden parallettes obsolete now?
@MinusTheGym Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I don’t really have a purpose for the wooden parallettes anymore aside from their aesthetic. And I prefer the high position for push ups because of the bigger deficit. I can go pretty deep with my chest and shoulders without touching the floor.

I just got these. The knob serves absolutely no purpose. Otherwise, seem good.
