So in actuality he failed the test, even though he defeated his past self his memories interfered once more (just like when he fought Seiryu) and that gave him the edge to destroy that meteorite, however without those memories "pure" Hehachi wouldn't have been able to destroy the meteor and would end dead again. The next DLC character will probably follow on from this story and balance out Heihachi's new strength.

After the tekken 8 tutorial a sequence shows various murals on ancient cave walls. It shows mishima clan ancestors slaying dragons, demons as well as the hachijos and even azazel. Also the thunder god raijin is shown, my guess has always been that the mishima are demigods like Hercules which would explain the lightning and them being way stronger than everybody else.

It's too on the nose really. I've said it many times in the past that Mishimas are descended from Gods of Wind and Thunder (Raijin and Fujin). While Kasumi is descended from devils. Hence she was tasked to infiltrate and marry Heihachi to curse their bloodline. So Jin and Kazuya probably still have some form of Godlike DNA/Genetics.
