I think the new Jun cinematic confirms that Jun wasn't some kind of apparition in the main story mode. She actually has been alive but dormant this whole time on some grassy altar. And she actually shows up at end of the story to collect defeated Kazuya (which was always unclear to me if that was really happening, but I guess it was!)

@@El-Burrito I would love it if in the next Tekken we found out that this is not Jun, but Ogre, or a variant of him like the demon king Piccolo and Picollo Jr from DBZ... Since in the last files They made it clear that Ogre disguises himself as people, since he entered the 3d tournament as Nina Williams . It would be pretty corny, but it could yield cool things like a story mode where Kazuya disappeared, and then another fighter like Reinah and In the end we discover that this Jun was actually the Ogre and then he absorbs Kazuya and reigns and becomes extremely powerful, leaving the final fight in the hands of Heihachi and Jin. Finally setting things right Among them, and varying a little from the cliché that the old villain always has to be a villain forever , Bison and Akuma are there in the same unchanged form to this day in the lore, always the bad guys. Tekken has always been about the ambiguity between good and evil.And if they forgave Jin for starting the third world war, Kazuya and Heihachi can also be forgiven for the other atrocities.Tekken needs new villains, it was great to bring Azazel back and close his story...but now I would love to see a new villain, ignoring this demonic people story a little.

I feel dumb for not realizing it, but Heihachi's hair could be seen as his 'Devil Gene', as they represent the 'horns' the Devil Gene bearers have when they shift. @@ametozukumazu6073 There's silly stuff like the fire scene and Jin throwing his bike every chance he gets but to retroactively undo what was built up as Heihachi's actual for real death after not just being dumped in lava, but literally having his heart stopped before that even happened, is pretty damn egregious. Shit like this is why fighting game stories can never move forward (same happened with SF6 seeming to finally progress the story only to bring back Bison anyway.) It just kinda makes it feel like these characters are achieving nothing in the end. At least Jin actually got to progress as a character and got the W of cleansing the Devil Gene. Though I wouldn't be surprised if they undo that by Tekken 9 just so they can keep the devil forms. FG devs (and fans, for that matter) really need to learn to let go of characters eventually.

What max doesn't know is that the Heihachi seen after regaining his memories is basically a "Boss" Heihachi. There is a video detailing the boss heihachi in action where obviously he is in a permanent state of warrior instinct but he also has extra moves and properties including a shin akuma like auto-parry when idle which also refills his heat gauge and can act as a reactivation

Then with T8 they're continuing that narrative rewrite and going "Okay now that we've basically reset everything, let's have Heihachi come back to life for realsies this time, and let's make it actually be a core part of the story rather being an excuse to have another King of Iron Fist being announced." It's a tiny bit confusing and feels slightly recursive, but I think it was necessary to take the Tekken world and thrust everything into a single interconnected narrative that explores new ground. Hopefully it's a redeemed Kazuya teaming up with his son to take out Heihachi (for reals this time), and Reina becomes the new main antagonist since she's the only one out of the 4 with the devil gene now.

@@ceithe5111 Lol thanks man. I will say, I was a bit bummed that Heihachi became evil again, but then I realized that the Mishima trio could squash Reina like a bug even with her newbie devil powers. So it makes sense that Heihachi is the main antagonist for now. We might see Heihachi betray Reina and it's Jin/Kaz/Reina vs him, THEN Reina lusts for power like her dad and becomes the main antagonist. Regardless, the story has been the best it's been for the series since T7, so I'm willing to give the writers the benefit of the doubt. Here's hoping 🤞

I would guess that this would lead into Heihachi and Reina vs Kazuya and Jin situation, from the new Jun cinematic it suggest that Jun didn't actually die and that would mean in T8 ending, Kazuya wasn't going into the afterlife and meeting Jun but instead Jun saved Kazuya. Heihachi was already strong enough on his own to fight Devil Kazuya but he's stronger now, there is no way Jin without his Devil gene would fight Heihachi and Devil Reina on his own, i would assume that Jun would eventually came to assist Jin and Kazuya would help Jin just for this fight considering he hated Haihachi much more than Jin

Is Heihachi Mishima immortal? Are his methods supernatural? Or does Harada like this man so much that he has Heihachi become a member of Good Villains never die club. What is fascinating about this dlc story is that this all happening at the same time Kazuya and Jin are having their final fight between the two of them. Which leads me to believe that we are gonna get another dlc story for this that will have Reina and her journey to reunite with her father Heihachi.

Am I crazy for thinking the ai was WAY more aggressive during the second time? I finished the dlc relatively easily on medium and then when I played through it again a second time to show my friends, all of a sudden the fights were so much more harder! It got ridiculously cheezy around the Kazuya fight. He used to play more conservatively and it took me one try but for the second time it took me several tries to beat him. He just kept countering everything I threw at him, armouring at the best times and spamming lasers the next. It was only until I decided to just spam the same move over and over again that I managed to kill him instantly 😂 and this was on medium! When I switched to hard, I had even way easier of a time than on medium (unlike hard where they would just back pedal on the aggression like you can see with Max, on medium they would just kept going! Only time they stopped was continuing combos). So bizarre!

Might be a hot take, but I don't get what's the point of bringing back these 100% dead villains, giving them amnesia, only for them to almost immediately revert back. Like if you're gonna bring them back evil, keep them evil. If you're gonna give them amnesia then do something interesting with it, otherwise it's just a lazy excuse to explain why they didn't participate in the events of the main story.
