This is a cool little mic. And i mean LITTLE! Lol This was right around the time bob passed. Hope you got some info out of it. Thanks for checkin in!

@meistudiony sadly, I didn't know that Bob had passed until yesterday when I saw your video. The world is at a loss without him. He was so kind to me when helping me choose the pr31bw for overheads, and I didn't feel like he was talking above my head. He was spot-on! Its PERFECT for my needs. I wanted a small-bodied, large diaphragm, dynamic mic because I only have 7 foot ceilings in my basement studio. I have a nicely treated studio, but my HVAC is next to the studio. Condenser mics were capturing the air noise from it. I tried ribbons, but they sounded horribly muddy (even after eq). Two engineers (one of them was multi-award winning) have visited my humble studio to collaborate with me. They couldn't get over how well the PR31BW pair did at capturing only what they were pointed at, and how clean the audio was. Very little EQ was needed in post. Best part was that I haven't even tried a cieling cloud above the mics, and they already sound great. Im going to build a cloud and see if it makes any difference. Cant hurt, eh? ....After seeing your video on the Handi Mic, I noticed that it seemed to pick up highs really well, but the bass was a little muddy. Im sure I could fix all that with EQ. I think the Handi Mic will serve best as an under snare mic, or a cheap vocal mic for interviews on-the-go.

What an interesting little mic! :o I've never seen this one, I wasn't expecting it to be so small 😂 Always a great time when MEI uploads! Cheers :)

RIP Bob Heil...

Wow, thanks a lot for making this review, friend. I was about to purchase a legendary vocal mic, which has a volume control, but I have to reconsider it after seeing your video, and feel a big loss in Bob Heil's passing away. I saw a Stevie Wonder concert video back then, in which the microphones are all Heil. I immediately bought the Handi Mic Pro Plus for playing my chromatic harmonica. Now, I know that I have to keep the Handi Mic Pro Plus in a safe place (inside my palm when playing my harp🙂).

Hey thanks for checking out the video. Hows it sound for harp? Ive been trying to find someone to do some demos for me since i have a few harp mics i wanted to do videos on (green bullet, rca 6206, ev630) i could add the handi mic to that line up. Never even thought about that, but it makes sense, its small enough to fit and its a nice bright sound. Awesome comment!!

@@imanbs Interesting. The Handi Mic is a really clean mic (with a little bit of brightness). I never thought about using it with a chromatic. Im a diatonic player and always looking for a warmer mic. The warmest I've found is the SM58, and its still too bright for me. They say that the Fireball is a warmer mic, but I have never seen one in person. A ribbon mic would be the answer, but Im a player who needs the proximity effect, so that's out. I'd destroy a ribbon in one concert.
