Well, I've been into this game for some time. This however is easily why I play as steppe factions in my campaigns. Nice good solid maneuvering with a heavy chance of raining death! Wonderful Video!

In a direct skirmish fight, try Cantabrian circle. Your horse archers get hit much less often. Only thing to be cautious of is that they won't skirmish away at all, so you need to manually retreat if they get charged.

Key word here is steppe :) They would live mostly on vast open plains densely covered in grass. Plus numbers in game tend to be a bit exaggerated.

Just discovered your channel 2 weeks ago, ended up buying the game. My graphics suck cuz I'm using my laptop, but I love the Scythians. Pothead ferocious horde!!! Still working on different tactics, and campaign is very hard with Steppe versus Steppe. Hope to see you do a small campaign as Scythia or Messagatae

They seriously destroyed lighter horse archers with all the changes to cavalry. Before it was possible to quickly destroy foot skirmishers in melee with horse archers, while they were besten by foot ranged troops at distance. Now they cant do anything at range, especially because of their outrageously low hitpoints and for the same reason plus zero weight behind charge have huge casualties in melee. Armoured HA do better, but cost a fortune.

totalmadnesman That's when you use your own cav to counter and thus destroy their cav. Thus removing the opponent's mobility and hailing the rest of his/her forces with rain of fire!

It is hard cause lots of heavy infantry can be difficult to deal with.

i have, and did alot of tweak with some folders.. and i did try to look for info but all there was in it was "i have the same problem" which is not a big help, or any help whatsoever..

gre3nishsinx0Rgold4 i had this problem also in shogun 2, I would suggest that you go to tue support forums at totalwar(dot)com/forums. They helped me out there and now I havent had any errors or whatsoever now.

Try the standard stuff: run as administrator and if you're game is from steam try validating the game cache (google it). If that fails try the support forums. GLHF.

I just go heavy on hoplites and slingers. Hoplites are very resistant to archer fire.

If so I'd like to see a video of you doing this in Multiplayer to show how it works if you have one. I checked through your Online Battles playlist and couldn't see any videos of you using Hoplite factions vs Nomad factions.
