I'm a bucks fan and I remember following his heisman season at UM. Every week he had some amazing highlight. He put UM in the NC and clinched the win there too. A deserving heisman imo. Love watching him play. Always a class act too.

I was eleven years old watching this guy in Baumhaulder Germany and I wanted to play for the Wolverines. In my opinion the biggest game changing player in College Football in my lifetime. Vince Young a close second with Reginald Bush and CJ spilla. Every chance he got near the ball he would get some sort of adrenaline rush not matched by anyone else on the field. An absolute joy to watch.

For those of us who can actually really remember that season and his whole career, Charles Woodson was one of the most dominant defensive players i have ever seen. He took half the field away. And most of his big plays came in the biggest games. I'm a Steeler fan but Charles Woodson is in my top 10 favorite athletes

1997 The year I went to my first Michigan game, and it was Colorado vs Michigan. I was only in middle school, never stopped loving them. GO BLUE BABY!!!!

Even though I'm a Pitt fan and Revis went to Pitt, I gotta give props to Woodson. I lived in Detroit when he played at Michigan and he is what got me interested in college football at a young age.

i have watched every game that michigan has played since 1993 give or take a few and the last few years have been pretty rough but in 1997 that was some of the best football i've seen a TEAM play ever. and to anyone who isn't educated on charles woodson, he was voted to the all-time team for college football so recognize.

Woodson is a winner! He's won it all. One of the smartest players ive ever seen. As a michigan fan im happy as shit that he played for us lol he shut done everybody including ohio st. The punt return sealed the deal i just wish his teammates wouldve given him time to do the heisman pose before they smothered his ass lol hopefully jabril peppers can fill those shoes. +365bigjoe i hear ya joe. To be honest though the score was about right. I mean that team is loaded!!! I was suprised how well we hung with you guys in the first half. Our team fell apart on defense in the 2nd half and its no mystery that we have no running game lol but overall i have to give harbaugh credit for doing as well as he did with the players he had to work with. He handle it a hell of alot better then any of our previous coaches lol we been a mess the last 7 or 8 yrs we needed this guy bad!! Im glad both programs were able to go out and land top notch coaches. Wish we could've got harbaugh a little sooner but oh well i guess better late then never lol soon enough the rival will be back to where it used to be. Urban meijer and jim harbaugh hell yeah man. Be like the old days bo vs woody cooper vs moeller carr vs tressel...some of the best college games ive ever watched. I love it

greatest college corner I have ever seen, hands down. I was born in '85 (so note I said, the best I've ever SEEN) before you post something about Deion or Darrell Green, Otis Smith, etc...This guy out-gained Heisman hopeful David Boston in the '97 OSU/UM game and Boston is the WR. CRAZY, then put up better numbers in his rookie season than Deion in his. On route to making the pro bowl in each of his 1st 4yrs in the league. Impressive

Probably the most dangerous player ever to play college football. He could hurt you in so many different ways, it was unbelievable. That Rose Bowl was something else. The Heisman was Charles' for the taking. Peyton Manning was, and still is, one fo the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game. Thank God I'm a Michigan fan and a Colts fan :).

Very true. Woodson was a stud in college but Sanders did it in the pros. When Woodson was coming out of college, some said he would redefine the CB position b/c of his strength, speed and coverage skills. He played well early but injuries and inconsistency screwed him up. He's playing well now with the Packers. but Sanders did it for much longer.

Exactly. Every time he was on the field he was a threat. On defense, teams always had to worry he was gonna come down with the ball when they threw it up there. Which he did more than anyone that year IIRC. On offense, he was always seemed to find that open space and make a big play. On special teams, it was the same story. Always able to make one guy miss and break a big play. How anyone can say a guy that ONLY threw TDs deserved it more is beyond me. His team couldn't even go undefeated.

The play from 8:24 to 8:55 is a pretty good example of why you don't throw to a guy when Woodson is within ten yards of him, even if the receiver appears to have a few steps on him.

He's actually a 4-time pro bowler and made his first as a rookie. In the same season he was defensive player of the year. While he has not really lived up to expectations 4 injury plagued seasons on bad teams will do that to you.

What are you talking about? Charles Woodson was Defensive Rookie of the Year with the Raiders. He was named to like 3 or 4 Pro Bowls with the Raiders and was named to like two All-Pro teams. He just got hurt too much in his last few seasons with the Raiders.

Akounye heres the stats 42 tackles, (4 for losses), 1sack, and 7 ints. His offensive plays 11 catches, 231 yards recieving 3 carries, 15 yards 3 tds he was also involved in 765 plays 613 on defence, 69 on offence,and 83 special teams.

Whether or not he was spectacular in the post-season, he got them to the post season with his spectacular play in the Regular season; a season in which he won MVP. Yes his defense showed up in the post season, but they took a break the entire regular season, so they should have been fresh enough for the post season.

And you know, whats amazing about Woodson is: he's 30 years old now, and he's still as good as he was 10 years ago coming out of Ann Arbor. The guy is probably gonig to be a shutdown All pro cornerback until his late 30's. The great ones like Deion Sanders and Ray Woodson don't reach the twilight zones of their careers until they are close to 40, so barring injury, Woodson will continue to dominate for at least 5 more seasons

What other Defensive player has 65 ints 13 TD defensively and 20 sacks in his career while having the ability to play on both side of the ball during his entire career oh and not to mention he is the only true defensive-men to win the Heisman trophy in college? He would've had more ints if QBs didn't become scared of throwing his way early on in his career. Sanders couldn't tackle and did not have to cover the echelon talent that Woodson had to deal with routinely
