Matt Ball Which is great news for the live shows, but I kind of mean more like I’d love to watch them playing normally... No playing to the crowds, no pressure to resolve the mission in a single session, no time hard time limits, just six mates telling a funny adventure but with more cliffhanger endings and enjoying the game rather than performing for an audience. But that’s just my opinion...

I was at the panel they did at ComicCon (where Johnny said about bumping the time limit) and I'm pretty sure he said they were looking at doing a few more adventures like Quiet Riot or Spot of Bother that aren't live shows but instead play out over an afternoon or so, but I think the whole 'ongoing campaign' thing ala Critical Role or Dragon Friends is a bit difficult to pull off when you've also got to factor in the deluge of other content they all make. Don't get me wrong, I'd absolutely love a full, narrative-driven 40 hour OxVenture campaign, but I don't think that's really ever going to be on the cards given their workload.

Matt Ball i mostly agree with the points you make, but keep in mind that Critical Role before it was a stream was an ongoing campaign that was played maybe one session every 2-3 months... A busy schedule doesn’t necessarily mean changing the story to fit the schedule. Hell, I’d rather they played privately without any cameras once every six months if it meant they could enjoy a more intricate narrative for themselves. None of them had played before (barring Johnny) and almost immediately they’re playing sessions to an audience. When does it stop being D&D and start becoming a stage production?

@@JimDeuce I think as soon as you put it out as content, the intent of the game instantly changes. D&D is like quantum computing, as soon as you observe the state of it, you change it. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but there's a huge difference between the game you play with your mates and the game you think you'll be judged on. I used to do a D&D comedy podcast years ago and it was a totally different experience to my current campaign.

J Merrilwynn, hasn't really achieved her goal of becoming the most powerful Druid and saving nature, but she is getting increasingly powerful, at the start she was alright, but now she can shape change, an example is the Merrilwynn meat grinder
