Over all yes. In my situation the ADU is for family so we don't need an additional meters. If it's going to be rented to the public separate meters is always a better choice

I just bought a new build house and the backyard is 5k sqft unplanted that opens up on the side of the house. I'm looking to build an L shaped ADU to make a courtyard feel. It will still have lots of room for a backyard on both sides. In 15 years I'll come back and update you.

Irving hello it happens automatically. Once a certificate of occupancy is issued the city records will be updated so you don't need to do anything.

Yes you can with a permit.

It depends where the ADU is. In Los Angeles, you need a permit and have to occupy the property yourself for over half the year, cumulatively.

The gas meter is free from your gas company. Solar panels are installed based on the watts you will be using. Only a solar panel installation company will be able to give you the best accurate answer. You could try an online calculator but it won't give you the right number you are looking for.
