It actually makes me sad, quite so, that 535 people have listened to this, and decided to thumb it down. I am a metal head primarily, but mostly a fan of music and the soul it has. This performance almost always gives me chills.

Robbie Robertson wrote one hell of a song in connection to the other songs from the album on which this was released and offered up biblical bits and pieces to the story. The song has been out for 53 years….unreal. The inclusivity of the different stylings is perfect for the piece. When Mavis sings with her buttered toffee voice or just throats a note I feel the goosebumps and adrenaline and I still wonder if I’m hearing what I’m definitely hearing. Her voice is difficult to define and must be heard! For me, she makes an incredibly special song even more special. It is a fun ride of a song and they all do it justice.
