This piece is so beautiful it almost hurts. When I listen to it, the beginning is so timid and quiet, two lovers feeling each other out, unsure how the other will respond. As it goes on you can feel them take flight together, soaring to new heights. As the song goes on, they move together through the unsurity of life, the hesitancies and miscommunications, but always their bond is growing.... Its just exquisite.

What a beautiful thought. Such a pure way of thinking about the delicacy of music, and remembering that we, as humans, have reached to some intangible , almost ethereal plane, of our minds. It always amazes me what we are capable.

I'm a pilot and this piece IS flight. The aircraft rolling out of the hanger in the cool morning, the taxi to the holding point, the engine coming up to speed, the dash and... into... the air... Tilting through the clouds with the sun impossibly bright in an eye hurtingly blue sky to your left and beautiful green turning to your right below. Clouds lit from within, a white that you've never imagined. Hear this music and it is the closest experience to flight without climbing into an aircraft by yourself and calling the sky your own for an hour or so.

This song somehow brings tears to my eyes and I don't even know what the tears mean. It's as though if I had to pick ONE song to represent our journey through life--it would be represented by this one song. It relates so much to the human condition and to the beauty of our souls. It's absolutely beautiful and I'm actually so thankful that I've found this song because it allows me to become vulnerable and cry--tears of joy, tears of sadness; peace, everything.

@kurowa_6 жыл бұрын
This song just makes me think about death and how life goes on after it. At first, it is slow and calm, like a dying person giving up their last breaths, accepting their death. Then, it slowly starts to get wilder. More emotional. Almost happy. As if the person was becoming one with the wholeness of nature, locking the circle that is life. Flowers bloom, birds chirp and insects crawl all around and on an ancient grave of someone, that was once happy. The life is gone, and so is the happiness. But life as a whole goes on. And it needs not that one person to do so. In fact, that one death might´ve brought about a new life and once again changed up the everlasting and everchanging garden of nature. And as a young man places a flower on an old man´s grave, he feels, that one day so might one of his offsprings do for him.

@TheBadgerslayer yes she was, I am not being critical of her, I respect anyone who can write music, and good music like she does, however Zimmer and Williams are titans of the music world, hardly anyone is as good as them anyway, I would consider them more or less in the realms of great compsers of our time, even in all of history, especially John Williams who is legendary and as good as the great classical composers.
@ilanpandore59944 жыл бұрын
Music is limitless, it’s your own opinion to say who is the best, not the reality say so, there are many great composers with great achievement, great skills, you seem to be unfair to claim about who is titan, so I’ll say this : of course some of Zimmer works are master pieces, but some of them I won’t even listen to it the second time....you can be a nice guys, but from what I view on your opinion, I’m a bit disappointed

This song really related to me on a personal level for the past 3 years, over the 3 different sections I hear in the song. The original section was my first university experience, where I thought I knew what I was doing and where I was going. I started with hope and with a fire, and I tried my best, but I couldn't cut it. I ended up hating that school, on account of the difficulty of an engineering college and the social isolation I had from being away from everyone I had ever known, which leads into the second section of the song, as it feels so drawn back and low to me. I had a strong down period over a year where I was depressed, suicidal, I had no motivation to do anything. I was removed from my original college by academic probation because my grades fell so hard. It was a far cry from the feeling I had at the beginning, and I struggled immensely with it. I turned to alcohol to get me through and it didn't help, it only made things worse. I ended up taking the year after off from college just to work, and to get my head straight and my feet back on the ground. Finally, as we get to the third segment of the song, I transferred from my original university to the one I'm currently at, and I've never felt more alive, more happy, more vibrant. I've gotten a new fire, a new reason to be alive, and a new will to progress forward. Just the change of scenery and the change of atmosphere made an absolute world of difference for me. Meeting new, amazing people, catching up with old friends, everything made life worth pursuing again. It likely saved my life. I went from a .7 GPA as a transfer to a 3.6 GPA in my first semester at my new university, and I flourished like I never believed I could before. Never give up. TL;DR: If you don't think you can do whatever it is you're challenged with... you can. Give it time. Stay vigilant. Stay strong. If I, of all people, can do it, so can you.

@TheBadgerslayer I would say that Zimmer is one the greatest film composers of our time. I would say that Williams is the greatest composer of our time. People don't realize that sometimes they hear him everyday when NBC News, and The Today Show comes on. And I don't think anyone has made two notes so famous has John Williams has (JAWS). While Zimmer is awesome, I would love to see what he would do outside the film world. I bet it would be amazing.
