Also,if you had carried on walking to the end of the bay you would have come across lots of feral cats, not on the beach, the prom side, all looking the same, someone puts food out for them, they’re not scary. This was fab Helen. 👍😁 weve been to Benidorm a few times now for the fiesta and often go and watch the mascletas (the daytime fireworks 🎉) they usually have them on for 2 or 3 days around 1pm or 2pm they are so loud aren't they 💥💥 and your right you can feel the vibrations in your chest 😂 always a great turn out thousands of people there. Glad you enjoyed it. Hope to see another solo Helen vlog. 😄🌴🍷🍹 xx

The daytime fireworks are called ‘mascalettas’. They are set off daily during fiestas at 8am to remind everyone that it’s a fiesta day. This set were particularly big as it was the last day of the Benidorm fiestas- at 2pm to signify the beginning of the last day. They aren’t meant to be coloured or pretty- they are all about the rhythm and the volume. They get louder and louder-& you’re meant to ‘feel’ the sound in your body. (Some people open their mouths to let out the vibration from the noise! They are unique to the Valencian region. During the big colourful firework display on this night- mascaletas are included to build the atmosphere of the finale.
