Wow! How did I never hear of this awesome vocalist before? Been listening to jazz and big band for years and somehow this fine lady escaped my knowledge. I now have another favorite singer.

She’s singing wonderfully. I’m glad you’ve saved this song she’s singing. I knew Helen Merrill’s son Alan Merrill a little in the clubs. Alan was a wonderful singer and guitar player.

Je me souviens d'un concert d Helen Merrill à Paris au New Morning . En trio avec Aaron Goldberg et Georges Mraz. Pas de batteur. Salle à moitié vide. J avais honte pour les absents. Ils avaient tort

Helen could sing the dictionary and make it gorgeous so underestimated. There are three great jazz singers Billie Holiday, Anita O"day and Helen Merrill.

PREFER ANITA a lot. And Irene. And Rosie. And Chris. The black ladies are far superior ...4 obvious reazons ..A great-lookin woman, but can t even stay in the key here. Also the comp is weird as if behind.
