You have to mean them, as Bellatrix said. Harry was determined to get into the vault, and he fully meant to get into there, therefore it worked. But also, Harry is no torturer, which is why it didn't work on Bellatrix, despite what she had done he doesn't have it in him to torture somebody, so he didn't TRULY mean it

I think maybe because she was trying to act like bellatrix by being uncooperative. But then it shouldve ended with her finally showing the wand after some resistance instead of harry doing the curse. The only thing that would make sense in the story is that hermonie and harry werent on the same page with their plan/strategy so maybe harry thought she really did need back up. But harry would need to not know about her having the wand. Ive only seen the movies, ive never read the books. But some parts of J.K rowlings writing has like plot holes or contradictions. Maybe lore continuity isnt as important with childrens novels? Idk lol
