Tromp has 227% chance to flood on each torp. Let's say the target is a Monte with its 37% torpedo belt. If the torp would smack a ship part without torp belt it would be a guaranteed flood. If it smacks a torpedo belt it will be the base chance 2,27 * 1,04 * 1,15 * 1,3 (Torpedo Flood Chance * flag separately * captain skill) multiplied by 0,33 (base torpedo belt reduction) multiplied by 0,97 (if dama con 1 is mounted) multiplied by ( 1 - 0,37 ) ( base value - ( torp protection of target + captain skills of target ) So we have a final flood chance of 352,9% * 0,33 * 0,97 * 0,63 = 71%

I eat DDs like biscuits with coffee with the Helena. She also has nice shooting angles, so it's very convenient to sit closer behind an island and just saturate super structures and start fires. People also seem to underestimate her, so you'd often see cruisers giving flat broadside, just like Balti did.

When asked about the best t-7 Cruiser all I heard was Fiji Fij FIJI, and yes, it's a great ship, but 1v1 against the Helena, it loses. Was told by clan members I was crazy, so I invited a few into training room and proved it.

Fiji can definitely give a run for money though. It does come down to the skill of to player. The improved AP with RNG can be very annoying but I did 1v1 a friend in Fiji and it was a super close fight.

Flood Chance is before flood/fire reduction of tier ... tier 10s have something like 50% reduce. Shima F3s were 440% btw. .... at least 5 Years ago :D

Helena is a perfect example of expectation vs reality and why you never judge ships based on the paper stats/singular reviews. On paper, Helena has one of it not the higest DPM of T7 cruisers. In reality looking at her server stats on both NA and EU, average actual damage is twoards the bottom of the stack, out damaged by Myoko of all things, who has double the battles logged lol. Her win rate, average frags and KDR are also below average. The only stat that is among the top is her average planes shot down. In short, shes fun, but has little impact on matches and pretty much cant carry.

Not to sound overly cynical but ill take the British ones any day of the week , and saying "strongest light cruisers in the game" is like saying strongest f2p on my team . If we reached this point we are in deep shit.

Yea, "best" is very subjective. Helena has some of the "best" paper dpm for her tier but that doesnt mean much honestly. Its all theoretical. Theoretical that the stars will align and you can safetly sit and farm 98% of the match against parked and/or broadsided straight line sailing targets to get the most out of it. Even then its just chip damage, with little actual impact on the match. Sure you may have one off amazing matches in it, but what about the other mediocre ones. Helena (nor the rest of the CL line) cant carry. Like the rest of the USN CL's, Helena has abysmal gun ballistics, esp at medium to long range, which means that theoretical " best dpm" goes out the window in the real world as you struggle to land good hits to moving, dodging, juking targets vs other nations CL's. I have the Boise as well, which I think is better, but its still one of the last CL's I would take out of port. Far more subjectively fun and impactful CL lines at this tier than Helena/Boise.
