Helene's Aftermath and How to be Prepared for a Hurricane

Hurricane Helene will go down in history as one of the most devastating hurricanes to hit the U.S. Before it wven made landfall, it sent rain for a day or two up the east coast and Appalacians. On Thursday night, Septemebr 26th, it ripped through the gulf coast of Florida. By the morning of September 27th, it left a path of destruction in the Augusta and Aiken area with wind gusts estimated over 100mph. The amount of rain that it dropped on the Appalacians was record breaking, causing mass flooding in tourist towns, mountain neighborhoods, and riverside homes. Many residents in its path were not prepared for the devastation. Being from Florida, I’ve dealt with my fair share of tropical weather and cyclones. Being prepared for something like this is in Florida is just part of life. Many folks in the mid Georgia and South Carolina area do not experience this kind of storm. In this video, I go over what you may need to prepare for a hurricane and how I prepared for a hurricane.
