Get an old bike box from a nearby store / order one alongside duct tape and bubble wrap. Watch a video on how to pack a bike and almost every flight service will take it as sporting luggage for not very much extra! Hope you can do it :)

Cool! I remember riding this with my buddy Bobby 2 Stroke in... 2001? I rode a '98 RM Element Race with 100mm travel front (over forked!) and rear, disc on front V-brake on rear Bob rode a steel Brody hardtail, and we both forgot our pads! I don't think I've ever used my '3rd brake' more on any ride since -is a crazy trail!
