Worst host ever! Only got to 3 mins in and had to stop. The pilot couldn't finish a sentence. I've been in situations where I kept getting interrupted and ended up speaking very minimally because the other person obviously didn't care what I said and was too annoyed and wanted to leave. I wouldn't be surprised if the pilot felt like that and only gave minimal short responses because he just wanted out of the interview

What the pilot is saying is that while they were climbing the heli probably rolled. But the pilot didn't realize this because he could not see the ground. He thought he was heading up but was pointed in a downward direction. The passengers probably had an uneasy feeling but really didn't know what was happening because they were basically blind. I had a similar experience driving through a dust storm. Completely lost sense of movement and direction. Your mind just freezes up and you become disoriented. In the air at that altitude it only takes seconds and it's over. Seeing how thick the fog was from the crash site photos the passengers had no idea where they were when they hit the ground. They just saw fog.

Yep, if you look at the radar tracking data it shows a sharp rise in altitude combined with a dip in airspeed, followed by a sharp drop in altitude combined with a sharp rise in airspeed. That would indicate that a stall happened.

@@CodyCha I asked this question on Reddit, r/aviation and some of the pilots said the flight was not registered for IFR Instrument Flight Rules for this particular flight. It was a VFR Visual Flight Rule. Many people/pilots were confused as to why the flight wasn't prepared for IFR. Speculating that maybe they were in a hurry or it would take to much time for a IFR flight. In the communication recordings between Kobes pilot and the towers you can hear them say it was a VFR flight. Someone also pointed out that the pilot mentioned it was a SVFR Special Visual Flight Rule flight. Someone said hearing that was sketchy especially in those flying conditions.

Brando they were given permission to fly through Burbank and Van Nuys' airspace, under what is known as "special visual flight rules," a kind of clearance for flying in low visibility. The pilot was very experienced, an instructor as well. He was instrument rated, which means he can fly using the instrument alone at any given point.

I was a tour bus operator and sometimes you have to say no. My responsibility was to insure that myself and the passengers got to and from safely. Sometimes in my case these leaders would try to force you into doing unsafe things just to keep itinerary but I couldn't. Wasn't because I didn't want to do it but because it was unsafe. For some people it's tough to say no especially if it's a billionaire whose paying you all that money to get them there no matter what. Sometimes saying no would save lives and not sure if Kobe was that type of boss or if the pilot was a nah I got this man type of person but its unfortunate that it cost some many people's lives including themselves.
