Helicopter Service At Hemkund Sahib From Gobind Ghat To Gobind Dham

I went to Hemkund sahib 17 times, when I was young. It is very enjoyable and good exercise. We get many experiences of humanity and life during it. The best is to walk. That way you will know and learn more. Once we walked from Joshimath itself. Then even Gobind ghat and Gobinddham were very small and had to sleep in darbar halls after sukh asan of guru granth sahib. Then once I went from USA about 10 yrs back. Lot of changes. Many hotels and other places built. Inns (srawan). But these these days very crowded. This year I went to India to see Retha Sahib in Pithoragarh area of Kumaon hills. It is the place where guru Nanak Dev ji sweetened retha which is very bitter otherwise. Not that crowded, very peaceful. Best way is go to Brailly by train then by bus or taxi to Nanak Matta. The gurudwara there has a big inn. Contact the jeep man through Sewadar of inn and next day jeep will pick you and take you to Retha sahib. Very peaceful place, calm and nature. Try it.

There is no helipad near Hemkunt Sahib Gurudwara. Secondly few years back a ropeway was proposed by Government from Govind Dham to Hemkunt Sahib Ji but it was opposed by Local People as income from tourists is there bread & butter (i.e ponies, kandis, etc).

I visited Sri Hemkund Sahib first time in 2018 (during closing fortnight of yaatra) from 27th September to 3rd October from Delhi by bus up to Gobind Ghat and nightstayed there next morning our group started onward yaatra of (4 +10) 14km (expecting strikes etc share taxis ie jeeps are available for the first 4 km @Rs30/40 per passenger & the rest either by walk or mule or the entire 14 km by walk or mule or helicopter mule charges vary from 300 to 1500 for one way of 14 km depending on demand and supply when I went there was strike by the taxi operators hence mule charges were very high & I paid Rs 1400 (Rs 100 per km) for one side & reached Gobind Dham and again nightstayed there next day the final span of the yaatra of about 6+km each way climbing up & down to & fro the Gurdwara Sahib has to be completed the same day that too before it turns dark in the evening this is little steep hills area & has to be covered by walk or mule (however palkies & kaandies are also available and are costly ones) I went by mule both sides & paid Rs 600 for up & 500 for down to Gobind Dham & again nightstayed there next day I walked down 1km to the Helipad & boarded helicopter for down to Gobind Ghat It took 6 minutes from taking off till landing the service provider were Deccan Air THE CONNECTING LINK BETWEEN THIS HELIPAD AND THE ROAD WAS A WOODEN STAIRCASE VERY BADLY BROKEN AND FULL OF RISK WITH THE HELP OF A YOUNG MAN I MANAGED TO CLIMB DOWN IT IT SEEMED THAT THE OPERATING CO THE AIR AUTHORITY AND THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT & THE ADMINISTRATION WERE COMPLETELY UNCONCERNED & BLIND TO THIS LAPSE AND NO SAFETY CHECKS AND SUPERVISION WAS CARRIED AND SURPRISINGLY THERE WAS NO OTHER ALTERNATIVE TO IT The one way ticket was RS 2875 per passenger weighing up to 80 kg +Rs75 for every additional kg However in a group of 2 or more passengers.,the higher weight of passenger /s was adjusted against that /those with lower weight By using the air services 2 days & 2 nights time can be saved by spending additional Rs 6000_7000 for air fares My contact no 9871336232 if I could provide some more information to anyone concerned in this regard
