Awesome set of videos to help people with this. Scored a 50. Went the ROTC commissioned route and was actually just selected for NG Aviation about a week ago. Hidden figures and the math were definitely the hardest part for me. With the figures it's basically you see them or you don't. There wasn't really in an in-between for me. My advice is find the hardest hidden figures you can find to study and just practice that as much as you can. As it goes for the math, I suck at math but here I felt that I could have studied a lot more. I put in a decent amount of time but I regret not pushing myself to study harder for it. It goes anywhere from like Alg 1-Pre Calc if I remember right. My other advice would be put in the time and the effort and if you really want this you'll make it happen. Only yourself can do that.

I really regret not pushing myself more and pursuing a military career as a helicopter pilot; regardless, I enjoy your lessons on You-tube Jacob. I still love anything rotary wing.

Hi Jacob! I wanted to thank you for all the content you've put up. I took the SIFT earlier this morning and passed with a 73. This channel and your booklet helped me better understand and visualize what I was reading in the FAA rotorcraft handbook. I spent a solid two months studying the different sections. Used two of the study guides you presented in your SIFT video (mometrix and test prep books). Those work really well for aviation info, spatial apperception, reading comp, and mechanical comp. I also took the Trivium online practice tests a few times (good for simple drawings and hidden figures, don't worry about the time when practicing). For the math portion I used some algebra 2 workbooks and khan academy.

Awesome feedback! Congrats! I’m glad my videos and books helped but it looks like you did a killer job studying everything you could.

I am just beginning my study for rotary aviation, and the SIFT test. I have read all the comments and advice on your videos. I am extremely excited and nervous but ready to take this step in my life. If there is any other advice you guys have please inform me. Also thanks a lot Jacob😄

Take my test on Tuesday. Have been studying the same red book. But nothing else except for basic helicopter controls and mechanics videos.

Got a 74. Watch all the videos study math and some physics and you’ll be set. Don’t let it get to your head.

Great to see you're back uploading, these videos have been extremely helpful for me getting my rotary PPL. I'm leaving in a few days as a 15G structural repairman and was wondering how soon I could put in a WOFT application on the enlisted side?

How long do you guys typically study before taking the test ? Couple weeks, a month, a few months? I’ve got my physical next week and then I schedule the SIFT for Reserves. I’d love to gauge a time frame.

Watched your other videos on aerodynamics, very informative. It would be interesting to know the forces acting on your bullets and stuff from trigger pull to impact.

I plan on making a series on aerial ballistics but have to see what I can and cannot release to the public. But yeah, we do A LOT of shooting from helicopters and there’s a lot that goes into it

I may come back to this comment at a later date, but even after just watching these videos, with no "studying" complete (just my prior schooling), I took a practice exam through my education center and answered 193/275 questions correctly with several left unanswered. The best tip I used from this video by far is #3 of deductive reasoning (process of elimination). I'm just starting the packet process so I will most definitely share my experiences for other after.

I also skipped most of the aviation question section ironically due to that being my lacking knowledge area.

Wish I had this back when I took the sift test, I walked in thinking I was taking the AFAST. Anyway glad you are back. I would like to suggest aeromed as a topic, I think you would do a great job covering it.

Khan academy is what carried me, coming in with a GED, through prime power school. The first 4 months are academic that are the number line through 3 phase power and Bernoulli's equations for 38 credit hours. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Is the SIFT given on a computer using a mouse, touch screen or using a pen? For the fast answers I think touch screen is ideal.

I believe it’s a mouse. But it’s been years since I took it.
