I have the coyote Matilda loaded for camping with the wife. I have the black Matilda loaded as a go bag. These are very good rucks. I estimate that both of my packs weigh about 40 pounds apiece. But that’s light compared to when I was in the 10th mountain division. At 240 pounds that’s less than 20% of my bodyweight.

I hear you. I'm ex forces too and my packs were weighted to say the least 👍

Hi des, sorry mate I missed this one. First your right about the pissing competition lol. An as a Yorkshire man living in Pembrokeshire, were can I go hunting the walsh 😂😂😂. I've always gone with the mindset 1 is none an 2 is one... A good setup an excellent opportunity to give a good video. Tc Andy 👍😎🔥

Nice load out Des, you've packed a lot of kit that into the Matilda. Come winter, I'm sure you could easily change things out and make space for your winter sleep system. Enjoy the course, I think I might try and get on one of his other carving courses in the future, it's worth it just to camp in that lovely woodland!

@@descattysBushcraftbydescattys yeah good thanks mate. I wasn’t sure about the thinner material at first but it’s been great so far. I really like all the organisation with the option for the two extra pouches on the side. I like how you are carrying the tarp. Will have to give that a go!
@descattysBushcraftbydescattys2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's reinforced in the right places. Just a thought with the tarp on the outside 👍

Yes, you're carrying it and no doubt you manage it well, but weigh out is always nice to know as my winter loadout buckled my knees. The shooting Welshmen thing, (they're were always white back then) there are old laws which has never been repealed and suggestions that one can shoot a Welshman after midnight with a Longbow on the old bridge over the river Wye in Hereford and similar claims in Chester and so on. Anyone trying such is likely to end up serving Her Majesty's Pleasure sewing Mail Bags, I like that Pack, pity I can't afford one. You have a lot of bags. I'd like to see a load out of that First Aid Pouch that your Paramedic Mate gave to you, I have the Pouch with the velcro quick pull off, but don't know how it would be packed outside of my own ideas for my own needs. I do realise this came before the KUKSA carving video, but TBH, this is more my thing than watching folk chopping and shaping blocks of wood. 😉🤦♂️🤷♂️😁👀😜

Fuck me Des you turned that ruck into the Tardis with the amount of kit you got into it! Fair play fella. I've got the Helikon bergen (22L) I think, its a great ruck and my go to day pack or for a cheeky overnighter.

That's an interesting thought if I'm honest I'm not sure, as the weight doesn't bother me, but I will check out of curiosity as some other people have asked 👍
