Helikon-Tex Summit Backpack: Bringing Tactical And Lightweight Together!!

The Helikon-Tex Summit backpack is a bag that bridges the gap between a backpacking backpack and a tactical bag. With other companies such as 5.11 and Vanquest having a similar philosophy on some of their products, how does Helikon-Tex stack up?? I think extremely well!!

Another Good and Detailed review. A few tweaks here and there would be good. I agree something on the bottom would be Nice to attach some gear I also add a few pouches and water carrier.

I failed to complain about the lack of loops for things like trekking poles or axes...this bag might find to be limited in its usefulness for multiple genres...I guess we'll see. I'm excited to give it a try though...I like it overall, but the carryability will prove what I decide about it overall.

i have this same back and what i do with the little zippered pocket is that i flop it outside of the pack when i fill it and back on top of the stuff i packed in the main compartment. just a little thing but it might make life a bit easier with it

@@outerlimitless ive been very happy with it. it rides well and is just the right size for my back. i dont like the belt pouches much because they are so damn small. for me the optimal would be enough room for my victorinox, headlamp and a compass, thats a minor inconvenient tho and quite easy to manage. all and all well worth the money. on the side i attached the helikon-tex E&E pouch where i keep my cook pot and some accessories. and on the other side on the webbings i just tied some rubber line to keep my poncho. thats all the add ons or modifications ive needed to make for it. if i ever start using hiking sticks ill probably use the webbings on the beaver tail to tie them on when not in use

Sweet...thanks for the feedback. I have a second video with my field use and carry impressions. I ended up bolting on a couple pouches too. I found I needed a tad more room to make it work, but overall is was an excellent comfort and carry.

Nice pack and great review. What is the name of the hanger system you use to hang your backpacks on?

I will be making a video on those hangers at some point...those are by Ontario...same ontario as the knife company. You can find them on Amazon for like $12 - $15...they're really nice.

That's one of my biggest complaints with that backpack. It should have been designed with attachment points on the bottom. There's no real good way to do it, and ideally it would be added to the bottom of the pack...maybe you can get creative with straps or pack your tent on the outside in the mesh pocket?
