Wow, the connection between Athena & the Virgin Mary reminds me of the same connections of the Virgin at old sites of local goddesses- Virgin of Guadalupe at the site of Tonantzin, Virgin of Lourdes - ancient pagan temple for water deities w/necropolis. It's like every generation recognizes the special energies there but with new incarnations.

I’m a firm believer in the architects of Athene’s temple purposefully placing the Parthenon on a hill, strategically the soldiers would have the sun to their backs and the ability to aim for the oncoming forces coming up, on top of it being a safe hideaway for civilians, while her brother Ares is the god of the violence of war, Athene is strategy
