@@ScottUhlMusic ...... I actually bought 2, one White & One Black .... so I understand ......lol! 😊👍👍👍 The versatility is incredible now adays .........I am age 50, and have been playing guitar since early 80’s...... I use 13 pin guitars 🎸 these days and love the digital tuning and intonation capabilities that still haven’t quite caught on yet??? I have a Roland VG99 and an Antares ATG-1 ..... I am looking to get back into learning cover songs and creating my own music again. **** Antares ATG-1 or ROLAND VG-99 combined with the HX Stomp allows me to have any tuning at the touch of a button combined with my Boss RC3 looper should be a super setup. I plan on using the looper for backing tracks, or to practice arranging ideas on the guitar. I love MIDI Instruments and capabilities. **** Pick up a 13 Pin guitar 🎸 if you play a lot of cover songs with a device that allows alternate tunings and modeled guitars and you’ll never be the same!!! **** Scott, Have you ever used HX Stomps pitch pedals along with a MIDI message to simulate whammy bar type pitch dives or whammy tremolo ? ...... I’m curious if it can do it well..... I grew up in the 80’s Pop & Metal guitar era and still love “The Police” to “Judas Priest” etc ..... Thanks for Your Video shares 😊👋

Nice 🤘I usually gig with my Variax JTV59, which is able to do the different tunings and fill different guitar models, and I have a Fishman triple play midi pickup installed on it. So it’s kind of similar to what you are doing. Although I’ve always wanted to try the Antares pedal, those things are pretty sweet by the looks of it! I wish they didn’t discontinue them. As for whammy effects I would imagine an expression pedal would work. I had a small expression pedal when I would need to do a Rage Against The Machine solo and needed the pitch whammy. It wasn’t too bad, and it worked. The newest model of the HX3.0 has a pedal specifically modeled after the digitech whammy, so I’ll have to try that out. Cheers!

The changes in the mIdi values are usually because of differences between brand standards. Roland has used 1-128 and Yamaha has used 0-127 since the early 80’s. Thanks for the video. I have been on the fence about purchasing, but the flexibility of the command center is very attractive.

Love your videos, Scott! I was following this guide and have now correctly set different actions to Footswitches 1 to 3 but I can't access them anymore through an external MIDI controller which has set 3 buttons to Midi CC 49-51 for Footswitches 1-3 (it works in other presets) - any idea if command center restricts external MIDI access?

Hi Scott, how do you put the change bank on wait mode? If I want to jump for example from bank 1 to bank 3 without the sound changing until I decide which snapshot and on which bank to use. I can't find any videos explaining how to do this. Thanks and greetings from Switzerland
@ScottUhlMusic Жыл бұрын
If I understand you correctly, you press the two buttons together (footswitch 1 and 2 or 2 and 3) and then it will wait for you to change to the new bank. Once you are ready, step on the bank you want to switch to

@@ScottUhlMusic can it be done with snapshot? Or only in stomp mode? The idea is to start the looper in HX and send CC to a drum machine at the same time...

This is the best manual of this functionality anywhere. Well done. Does anybody know if you can send more than one midi CC in one tap? That wasn’t clear to me.
@ScottUhlMusic2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! And I do not believe you can send more than one… although if you get really creative with the command center and buttons it might be possible? But I don’t believe so. Although if you told button one to send CC 25, I believe it might still send CC49 like it’s programmed to? You’ll have to let me know if you can get it to work. Thanks for the comment!

Hot key is working but midi cc is not working? The midi cc might not be assigned to anything, or in global settings something isn’t enabled: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppiVh5d4jZyneNE

Hi Scott you seem to know your stuff, rare these day's, love your vids !, my son is learning to play the piano on his Mothers 11yr old Roland HP203, it has limited functionality on the actual piano, but has a massive Midi implementation manual to access the insane amount of sounds and effects that are actually inside the device, we also own an HX Stomp and we're hoping to control the piano with the HX stomp for a bunch of presets eg Rhodes sound number ##, and possible assign a control pedal to control the depth of its Panning Tremolo and possibly tab tempo as well.

to send note on midi messages from helix- trying to get switches to play different notes on fishman tripleplay synth - I see it in command center but it's not triggering ...I assigned the instant command to bring up the patch no problem - but the note I assigned isn't doing anything(set to latching) - I'd much rather have one of the soft synths for a drone than program the note generator within helix

This and your midi for dummies video have been so useful! Thanks! I just wanted to check, could you use midi from the HX Stomp to change and turn on another pedals bank simultaneously? Like changing the bank of the Stomp and say a Strymon Timeline at the same time half way through a song?
@ScottUhlMusic4 жыл бұрын
Yup you definitely could since the Strymon accepts midi commands. 👍 anything that accepts midi it will work, and if something doesn’t accept midi they have pedals for that as well like the Gig Rig if you want to go all out with it.
