Say what you will but I live here in London On Canada and Brian Volmer, the lead singer lives a few blocks away, and you can knock on his door anytime, he turns no one away........calls his house Planet Helix which is really a museum to the band and Rock Metal in general........He and his wife Linda make you feel like family......very down to earth person is Brian.

I met the lead guitarist in Calgary Alberta Canada in November, 1985. The autograph he gave me was inscribed with the words, " It's a long way to Kitchener." We met in a bar called Ranchmens. Several good looking guys with long hair came into the bar. One of them approached me and asked if I was from Calgary? I informed the guy that I was in town to attend a concert the following night. I told him the band was called Helix. He smiled and said he was the lead guitarist. "If your the lead guitarist then give me your autograph on this sheet of paper," l laughed. I was pleasantly surprised to see Brent on stage the following night. To my surprise he signaled me out from the crowd. Great memories. Thanks, Brent!

With as many hits Helix had I'm suprised this song didn't make it more mainstream. It's one of the best songs on the album. Excellent video and production. The vocalis sings effortlessly. Love the video because all the musicians are just unpretentiously and masterfully doing what they do to make the song completely awesome.

It is with deep sadness that I must inform you all of the passing of Paul Naumann, lead guitarist for A Foot in Coldwater (this is a cover of their original by Helix). He passed in his sleep on October 20, 2009 at his home in New Mexico. He is survived by his wife Kathy, his son Paul Jr. and Hannah his daughter. R.I.P. Paul - we will all miss you......
@johnc.82982 жыл бұрын
Interesting that the lead guitarist in this video, Paul Hackman (dark hair) has also passed away. Paul was asleep in a van driven by a roadie back in about 1992 or 1993 in the Canadian west. Driving between gigs it seems the driver fell asleep and Paul was killed when the van left the road.
