Yeah that didn't make any sense to me. And clipping the copper legs like that didn't make sense to me either, if it was a linear feel he was after, he could have just pulled out the copper actuation system from say a set of random Outemu switches. Snipping them off literally killed a switch that in theory still could have worked fine without the plastic plunger stem, as that stem still on most switches I've modded still extends quite far into the stem for the spring. The caps on the board would help with bottoming out as they hit the frame yet, so just...pulling that out and all still would keep a functional switch. He literally destroyed them for no reason.

Random fact: @ 4:15 the "plastic bumps" are the things that make your keyboard hotswappable. And wouldn't be there in non-hotswappable keebs...... could've saved some time if you went with them.

i remember owning keyboards with optical switches, basically the switch is just a pole and when you press it, it interferes with a beam of light sending a key press, now I also remember that the keyboard is hot swap, so instead of buying gat blacks and wasting them you could have done this
