Heljan O Gauge Mk1 GUV Coaches - Model Preview

Sam has now got a small 0 gauge layout. He might consider buying one of the coaches, if he has enough money. It would now be of use to him. Sadly, not to me. I don't have room for 0 gauge track or models at all, and never will have. I'm happy with what I've got and, at the same time, chuffed up in the head. I've already explained why. I do like looking at new rolling stock, don't get me wrong. It's just that I find gazing at a steam engine, whether it be LNER, LMS or GWR, a lot more magical. That's not to say steamies like Terriers and Pecketts don't get a look in, of course they do. I'm a lover of steam engines in general, although I'm not a Southern Engine Fan. I'll always take exception to Sir Lamiel and Taw Valley, make no mistake. They are both magnificent with a charm all their own. After all, what's not to love about a steam engine that breathes smoke and fire? If you asked me which steamy took the top spot, my answer is this: Foxcote Manor and City of Truro will forever share it in my heart. Both are my number 1 engines. Sadly, my favourite childhood hero, Thomas the Tank Engine, is jealous of this. He knows I'll always love him, but he can't ever compete with the love I share with Foxcote Manor and City of Truro. Sorry, Thomas. You'll always be second best.

O Gauge is a fantastic scale to get in to, with an ever increasing range of models and models that don't require as much space as you think to run well. Single car DMUs or small locomotives look great on small O gauge layouts without the need of a massive space. We're sure Thomas doesn't mind being second best to such fantastic locomotives too!
