@@035gogmofo6 This is a small, very specialized sub-group of waitresses in Texas. Females only, who tend to be anywhere from 65 - 120 years of age, have worked at the same restaurant for decades, have a hairstyle from the 1950s, and don't have time to mess about. People will continue to patronize the restaurant because: it may be the best food in town, it may be the only restaurant in town, it may be a community landmark or tradition, and these lovely ladies are hilarious to interact with, or just listen to, because there is no bullshitting. Be ready to order, don't ask about anything on the menu, don't make any extraneous requests, and you'll get along fine. It's a lot like the Seinfeld episode with the "Soup Nazi."

@@burnthecandleatbothendz The people are just like all the other people I've met round the world. Some good, some bad. Mainly good. What I don't care for is the heat and the plagues of beetles that I used to come across at truck stops late at night. *Crunch...crunch...crunch* as you walk into the creepy run down gas station. Stations always filled with dusty shelves, A/C kept much too cold for most humans, and a lone clerk of one or two flavors. That being a wiry middle aged man with dark hollow eyes, a slit for a mouth, and hands and fingers much to large and long in proportion to his body. Or a female of varying age and build, but always with steely eyes and a cold demeanor, always seeming to look behind me as I did my business at the counter. Time and time again I ran into these truck stops out in the deserts of Texas. Never the same location, yet never àny different than the other in a bizarre and eerie way that can't be explained. I get tears in my eyes and goosebumps so intense I feel as though I'm vibrating, just writing this out. Yeah partner, Texas ain't for me.

When you’re in the longhorn state surrounded by a dessert what kinda asshole orders a trout. You’re gonna make a cowboy go fishing or have someone run to a fish market? Only certain areas might have fish like that. If anything salmon might be over there but idk how many trout species are hanging out in high numbers there’s gotta be a more local fish option. It makes sense on the north-east to ask for fish/deer/imported meats you’ve got plenty of lakes and oceans. it only makes rich people sense to go 100 miles in in a desert and ask for a fresh fish. Just order a burger or chicken with some fries and sauce if you’re a confused kid. but if you’re an adult man get a med-rare steak and baked potato. And get going.
